- Ensure full compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) regulations.
- Monitor and interpret changes to federal and state safety laws and regulations, updating company policies and procedures accordingly.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs, including Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP), Hazard Communication, and Emergency Action Plans.
- Conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Risk Assessments.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits at various job sites across California to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Recommend corrective actions and verify resolution of safety violations or deficiencies.
- Develop and conduct safety training sessions, including OSHA 10/30-hour certification courses, toolbox talks, and site-specific safety orientations.
- Work with the Learning & Development department to ensure that all training records and certifications are current and properly documented.
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain OSHA and Cal/OSHA-required documentation and reports, including the OSHA 300 log.
- Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees at all levels, encouraging proactive identification of hazards, and reinforcing safe work practices.
- Collaborate with department heads and field supervisors to reinforce safety accountability and awareness.
- Travel throughout the state of California to perform on-site inspections, attend meetings, and oversee safety operations at multiple facilities or project sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA standards and compliance procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA 30-Hour or Trainer Authorization preferred
- Familiarity with risk management and emergency preparedness strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and travel frequently within the state.

Compensation Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually
