Sales/Intake Attorney - Criminal Defense Michael & Associates, Tennessee

Michael & Associates is revolutionizing the criminal defense sector in Tennessee. Building upon our significant growth and successes in Texas, we are excited to introduce our innovative methods to this new region, emphasizing collaboration, advanced technology, and exceptional client care. Our objectives are both ambitious and achievable: over the next three years, we aim to become the largest and most successful criminal defense firm in the nation, while fostering a work environment that empowers attorneys to thrive personally and professionally, guaranteeing that every client receives outstanding legal representation.

      Who We Are

We distinguish ourselves from conventional defense firms by combining premier legal expertise with operational efficiency modeled after top technology companies. By leveraging state-of-the-art digital marketing, streamlined workflows, and data-driven systems, we deliver a high-end, concierge-level experience to our clients. This approach has established us as one of the largest criminal defense firms in Texas, and now we are bringing this innovative model to Tennessee-setting a new standard for criminal defense services.

      About the Role

Step into the role of a Sales/Intake Attorney and become the first trusted voice for individuals seeking expert legal representation. Engage directly with clients facing serious criminal charges, conduct comprehensive case evaluations, and confidently communicate how Michael & Associates is dedicated to protecting their rights and securing their future.

This role does not involve cold calling-every lead is pre-qualified and actively seeking legal help. Your main focus will be on building strong trust, showcasing the firm's unparalleled value, and smoothly guiding potential clients through the process of retaining our expert services.

      Key Responsibilities

      Engage and Convert
      • Conduct daily consultations with roughly 20 qualified leads.
      • Build rapport quickly, understand client needs, and secure signed retainers.

      Educate and Advise
      • Develop in-depth knowledge of Tennessee criminal law and our firm's defense strategies.
      • Answer client questions confidently and explain our approach in a clear, reassuring manner.

      Empathize and Reassure
      • Support clients who may be anxious or overwhelmed.
      • Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and empathy to build trust and confidence.

      Represent the Brand
      • Uphold Michael & Associates' commitment to excellence, advocacy, and white-glove service.
      • Set the tone for an exceptional client experience from the very first interaction.

      Why You'll Love This Role

      • Join a Rapidly Expanding Firm
Become a key member of our Tennessee launch team and play a crucial role in establishing a new market for one of the country's most driven criminal defense firms.
      • Defined Pathways for Career Growth
We provide advancement opportunities that are uncommon in smaller defense firms. High achievers can lead intake teams, oversee markets, and assume greater leadership responsibilities as our presence grows nationwide.
      • Forward-Thinking, Technology-Driven Culture
Leverage technology, automation, and ongoing improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and prioritize delivering results.
      • Supportive Team Atmosphere
Success is a collective effort. Every client benefits from our combined expertise, ensuring you receive support and work towards shared objectives at every stage.
      • Create a Lasting Difference
From your very first day, your efforts will have a direct impact-helping clients reclaim control, hope, and confidence during difficult moments.

      Requirements

      • You Enjoy Consultations and Client Interaction
You will be talking to potential clients on the phone daily - and we truly mean a lot. If you don't sincerely enjoy connecting with people, hearing their stories, and assisting them in finding solutions, this position may not be the best fit. However, if you find fulfillment in having meaningful conversations and supporting clients as they take their first step toward peace of mind, you will enjoy working here.
      • Proven Phone Sales Skills
You don't just talk - you connect. You're friendly, empathetic, and professional, but also confident and persuasive. You can build rapport quickly, handle objections gracefully, and explain legal value clearly. Prior experience in phone-based sales or client consultations is a big plus.
      • Licensed (or Eligible) Attorney
To be considered for this role, you must meet both of the following requirements:
        • Hold an active Tennessee Bar license in good standing.
        • Have at least 7 years of criminal defense experience, including handling misdemeanor and felony cases and conducting client consultations.
      • You Love the Phone - Seriously
We can't stress this enough: this role is about talking with people all day, every day. If that energizes you, you'll thrive here. If not, this probably isn't your ideal fit.

      Benefits

Competitive Annual Salary: $160,000-$200,000, based on experience and performance.
