      Sales Executive, Commercial - Job Description

      Position SummaryThe Sales Executive, Commercial is responsible for driving business development and delivering customized insurance and bonding solutions across key industries including Healthcare, Education, Real Estate, Construction, Non-Profit, Manufacturing, and Professional Services. This role focuses on generating and qualifying leads, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and partnering internally to deliver tailored solutions that align with client needs while supporting firm-wide growth. The position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a proactive, hunter mentality and a strong commitment to client success and organizational performance.

      Key Responsibilities

      Functional Leadership & Ownership
      • Owns the sales process from prospecting through closing and account transition.
      • Acts as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for clients' risk and insurance needs.
      • Collaborates with internal teams to align solutions with client objectives.

      Hands-On Execution & Delivery
      • Generates and qualifies leads by identifying prospects and evaluating market position.
      • Researches and analyzes sales opportunities and develops tailored strategies.
      • Actively pursues new business opportunities with a strong hunter mentality.

      Reporting, Quality & Operational Support
      • Maintains accurate pipeline and sales activity tracking.
      • Ensures timely and high-quality client deliverables.
      • Monitors client needs and proactively addresses coverage gaps or risks.

      Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration
      • Partners with internal divisions to deliver comprehensive solutions.
      • Identifies and executes cross-selling opportunities across the firm.
      • Supports seamless client onboarding and service transitions.

      Growth, Change & Special Initiatives
      • Drives new revenue growth and market expansion initiatives.
      • Adapts to evolving market conditions and client needs.
      • Supports strategic business development efforts.

      Process Improvement & Best Practices
      • Stays current on industry trends, competitors, and market activity.
      • Continuously refines sales strategies and approaches.
      • Promotes best practices in business development and client engagement.

      Center of Excellence (COE) Contribution
      • Shares insights and market intelligence with broader sales team.
      • Contributes to development of sales playbooks and best practices.
      • Supports alignment with organizational growth strategy.

      Accountability
      • Delivering consistent new business revenue and growth.
      • Maintaining strong client relationships and satisfaction.
      • Ensuring accuracy and quality of sales activities and deliverables.
      • Contributing to overall firm success through collaboration and cross-selling.
      • Demonstrating sound judgment and ownership in decision-making.

      Qualifications

      Required
      • 2-7 years of sales experience or relevant insurance-related experience.
      • Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
      • Ability to identify client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
      • Established or developing network in PA, MD, DC, or VA.
      • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

      Preferred
      • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
      • Experience in commercial insurance or brokerage environment.
      • Property & Casualty license.
      • Advanced designations (CIC, CPCU, etc.).
      • Experience with Applied EPIC.
