What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer telephone calls and assess the urgency of calls, providing assistance or directing callers to the appropriate person
- Schedule patient appointments and resolve scheduling conflicts, notifying patients of changes or cancellations
- Build and modify monthly provider master schedules and clinic calendars, accommodating time off and emergencies
- Book diagnostic tests and specialized appointments for patients, ensuring they receive necessary paperwork and instructions
- Maintain filing systems and manage inventory of office supplies and educational materials
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Four years of related work experience, with at least two years in the same job family at the next lower level, or an Associate degree with two years of related work experience
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills to interact professionally with all members of the patient care team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to handle conflicting demands and time pressures
- Proficient in English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation for accurate data entry and patient information management
- Proven record of exemplary attendance, punctuality, and reliability
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience scheduling in a high-volume healthcare-related call center or medical practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with EPIC scheduling and electronic medical record systems
- Experience using multi-line telephones and managing call queues
- Spanish-speaking ability
