Identify and analyze relevant risks, vulnerabilities, threats, trends, and incidents that could negatively affect the security of the Museum, staff, facilities, operations, and visitors.
Answer routine and emergency calls, monitor surveillance and camera systems, and coordinate the response to any interruptions with security personnel, frontline security force, and other departments.
Respond to life safety incidents (medical, safety, facility related issues and emergencies, natural disasters, etc.) and dispatch appropriate security via telephone, radio and/or mass notification systems.
Act as the point of contact in all emergencies requiring the assistance of an outside entity such as the NYPD, emergency services, or the fire department.
Evaluate, escalate, and resolve fire alarm system, electronic security systems (ie. CCTV, access-control, intrusion) and other security events.
Responds to all art related incidents that require immediate attention and contact the appropriate Curatorial/Conservation Primary Emergency Contact and ensure that appropriate steps are taken to mitigate further risks to the collection
Provide briefings to Security Leadership related to high level emergencies such as incidents involving the collection, acts of vandalism, protests, theft, assault, trespassing, or concerns with critical infrastructure.
Enforce SOC protocols while following Standard Operating Procedures for responding to an event and provide suggestions for improvements.
Identify and communicate critical incidents or events according to established notification procedures—including senior leadership, as appropriate—and coordinate incident response logistics, provide direction and response instructions to Frontline Security Force, and create accurate and timely incident reports.
Provide logistical support for crisis management teams, including exercise coordination, roster maintenance, and crisis call facilitation
Additional duties as assigned.
Associate degree or equivalent progressive work experience.
Desire and ability to work non-traditional hours (e.g., overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays) and potentially respond to emergency situations.
Demonstrated experience exercising good judgment, clear decision making, appropriate initiative and professional conduct.
Demonstrated experience analyzing problems, identify causes, and implement results-oriented solutions.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Pay Range: $65,000/annual
The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The advertised pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage for any specific employee. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:
You will support all Metropolitan Museum of Art locations prepare for, respond to, and recover from both crisis and normal daily operations issues. You will gather information and data related to essential Security and Buildings department systems to assess potential internal and external threats to all physical and technical aspects of the Museum. You will monitor cameras and alarms, dispatch associated calls via telephone and radio, operate access control technology, and provide general assistance to staff, volunteers, and vendors.

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
