The Senior 3PL Manager - Third Party Logistics Manager is the operational lead for our Third Party Contractors and Couriers in Germany. You will be responsible for all aspects of last mile operations, contracting with suppliers, couriers and delivery partners agreeing service levels and working contracts to ensure the highest levels of quality, service and customer experience every day
Responsibilities:
- To develop a DSP (Deliver Service Provider / 3PL) structure that will enable and support the growth of Amazon’s business.
- To establish and determine the strategy and direction for AMXLs DSP requirements, including the annual peak increase in labour.
- To be responsible for developing a framework for managing DSPs for Germany AMXL locations, ensuring standard processes that allow for both country and local variations.
- To prepare and execute the annual project plan, working with site teams to ensure that the following actions happen on an annual basis.
- A critical review and enhancement of standard reporting and tools to ensure business needs are consistently met.
- Ensuring effective compliance mechanisms are in place to ensure that legal and contractual requirements are consistently meet.
- To negotiate contractual requirements with multiple DSPs which include Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), agreeing margins at an appropriate level to ensure a quality, cost efficient service is provided that meets organisational requirements.
- Overall management of DSPs to the agreed KPI’s and SLA’s, including carrying out regular supplier reviews and completing an annual supplier review to ensure the standard of service delivery remains high.
- To determine the labour demographic in areas where Amazon operates, ensuring that the strategies for supply are flexible and robust to meet the need in each area.
- To lead the DSP team throughout the peak trading period, ensuring metrics are achieved and root cause analysis is completed to ensure issues are understood and improvement plans are implemented.
- Provide innovation in developing long term strategies to ensure that the DSP operating model is flexible and agile to meet future customer demands.
- Introduce new and innovative ways of managing the delivery network (included but not limited to utilization of different transport models, different delivery network models, new sources and innovative models for workforce planning)
- Develop talent - create, lead, engage with and direct a workforce to drive enhanced performance through our people agenda.
- Working with key business partners across AMXL to deliver the operating plan and to secure required support and resources for projects and initiatives.

- You will need to be proficient in verbal and written German & English language
- You will be an experienced Senior Manager, ideally with a background in leading a Germany business. You will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of working within a 3PL, contract management, or vendor related environment and will be an exceptional people leader who enjoys operating at the front line of a business.
- Experience of working in a logistics, manufacturing, production or distribution environment at senior level role managing multi-site locations
- Experience of managing and delivering results in a service led, third party logistics, or vendor related industry would be highly advantageous.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA
- Ideally you will have experience of lean manufacturing techniques/six sigma
- Ideally you will have experience of managing 3rd party contract resource arrangements on a large/national scale
