What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead projects in air quality planning and science, focusing on emission reduction strategies
- Collaborate with partner agencies and stakeholders to implement air quality improvement strategies
- Analyze large air quality and meteorology data sets using various software tools
- Prepare and deliver presentations to diverse audiences on air quality trends and strategies
- Conduct data analysis and technical writing to support regulatory compliance and planning
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in atmospheric or environmental science, chemistry, physics, engineering, mathematics, regional, urban, or environmental planning, geography, or a closely related field
- Minimum of three years of professional-level experience in air quality, environmental, or related analytical roles
- Valid California Driver's License or the ability to obtain one upon hire
- Strong analytical skills and experience in technical project management
- Ability to attend work on a daily basis as scheduled
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with photochemical and emissions models such as CMAQ, SMOKE, and EMFAC
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages, including R, Python, and others
- Background in conducting meteorological analysis and air quality forecasting
- Experience in preparing visual aids and GIS mapping for presentations
- Interest in air quality policy and regulatory analysis
