      Senior Business Analyst / Scrum Master

      Cisive

      About the Role

      Cisive is a leading provider of compliant background screening solutions serving mid-market businesses, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations. This is a dual-function role for a sharp, collaborative professional who thrives at the intersection of analysis and agile delivery. You will serve as both the primary Senior Business Analyst and Scrum Master for a cross-functional team supporting our Drug Testing & Occupational Health, Government, and Transportation clients driving clarity from discovery through delivery in a compliance-sensitive, regulated environment.

      Business Analyst Responsibilities
      • Partner with product owners and stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements across Cisive's background screening workflows
      • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows - with particular attention to FCRA compliance requirements
      • Conduct gap analyses, workflow assessments, and process mapping across screening product areas including criminal, verifications, civil, medical, MVR, and drug screening
      • Maintain a well-groomed, prioritized product backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner
      • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to align on scope and intent
      • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team to ensure shared understanding
      • Define and track KPIs and success metrics for delivered features and solutions
      • Produce high-quality documentation including BRDs, process diagrams, data flows, and user journey maps
      • Support UAT by developing test scenarios, coordinating with QA, and managing stakeholder sign-off


      Scrum Master Responsibilities
      • Facilitate all scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
      • Shield the team from external interruptions and protect sprint commitments
      • Track and communicate sprint velocity, burndown metrics, and team capacity
      • Coach team members on agile principles and continuous improvement practices
      • Identify and actively remove blockers, escalating impediments when necessary
      • Foster a psychologically safe, high-trust team environment rooted in agile values
      • Report sprint health and delivery progress to leadership and key stakeholders
      • Continuously improve team processes through retrospective action items and experimentation


      Required Qualifications
      • 5+ years of business analyst experience
      • 2+ years acting as a Scrum Master or agile lead
      • Strong proficiency with Jira and agile tooling
      • Experience writing user stories and BRDs
      • Exceptional facilitation and communication skills
      • Ability to manage competing priorities across dual roles


      Preferred Qualifications
      • CSM, CSPO, or equivalent Agile certification
      • CBAP or PMI-PBA certification
      • Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive industries (FCRA, background screening, or HR-tech (preferred)
      • Familiarity with process documentation tools (e.g., Confluence)
      • Background in SaaS or product-led organizations
      • Experience with Claude
