- Daily ward round at Chorley and South Ribble District Hospital or Royal Preston Hospital
- Attendance at out-patient clinics at Preston and Chorley.
- Operating sessions will be determined by the individual's experience with both supervised in-patient and day case lists in Chorley allowing training in endoscopic, laparoscopic and open pelvic and renal surgery in Preston.
- This post will be part of the 1 in 7 on-call rota at Registrar/middle grade level covering Preston and Chorley Hospitals.
- Audit and research activities, participation in teaching and training activities for medical and clinical staff is expected.
- Assessment of ward referral at Royal Preston and Chorley Hospitals.
- Providing support to more junior staff eg FY1 and FY2.
- Weekly programme will typically include 2 clinics, 3 inpatient lists, 1 flexible cystoscopy/diagnostic list and MDTs.

- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCS or equivalent
- A minimum of 6 months experience in Urology at CT2 / Registrar level.
- Completion of Basic/Core surgical training rotation
- Involvement in audit
- Evidence of commitment to teaching undergraduates, postgraduates, nursing and allied health professionals
- Evidence of leadership skills
- Examples of experience supervising junior medical staff
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice

Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Urology to commence following pre- employment checks, for a 6 month period with the view to extend.
Ideally suited to fully registered doctors seeking to extend their existing exposure in the specialty, there may be a requirement to participate in the on-call rota working alongside middle grade colleagues.
Previous experience in Urology is essential.

Major acute Trusts in the North West with all of the usual specialties on site as well as being a Tertiary Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria in the departments of Neurosciences, Oncology, Plastic Surgery and Burns and Renal Medicine.
The Urology department comprises 10 fulltime consultants,7 middle grades (three Specialist Trainees, 3 specialty doctors, 1 CT2 Core Trainee), 4 FY1 doctors. The department is fully active in all areas of urological surgery having an established record of minimally invasive surgery (both robotic and laparoscopic). We offer tertiary services to the 1.5m population of Lancashire and South Cumbria for kidney cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, complex kidney stone surgery and all general and endourology surgeries.
