      Senior Collections Manager is responsible for leading and managing our Accounts Receivable (AR) operations. This role is responsible for overseeing collections, and monitoring cash application processes to optimize cash flow, minimize aged receivables, and drive process improvements.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Lead, mentor, and develop the AR team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
      • Collaborate with other Revenue Support Team leaders to manage AR collections operations, including monitoring invoicing and cash application, ensuring timely and accurate processes.
      • Analyze AR aging reports and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; implement strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and enhance cash flow.
      • Champion company-level initiatives to optimize elements of the order to cash cycle and drive improvement in DSO.
      • Conduct periodic manpower planning analyses to ensure collections staffing is appropriate and aligned with actual and forecasted volumes.
      • Collaborate cross-functionally with customer sales, operations and carrier sales to resolve payment issues and improve the customer billing experience.
      • Collaborate with Credit and Sales to ensure credit policies are aligned to support the Company’s market and collections risk tolerance.
      • Lead AR-related month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting timelines.
      • Develop and maintain AR policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
      • Champion process automation and the adoption of technology to optimize AR workflows and reporting capabilities.

      Qualifications and Skills:

      • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
      • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounts receivable experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
      • Expertise in AR processes, collections strategies, and credit risk management.
      • Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms; advanced Excel skills required.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
      • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing, training, and developing team members.
      • Experience in the freight or logistics industry is a plus.

      SCHEDULING

      This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. An employee in this position must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, during peak periods.

      TRAVEL

      Local travel is required. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special training/conferences.
