What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage a personal caseload of complex coverage and litigation claims, ensuring proper adjudication or settlement
- Perform administrative tasks necessary for Complex Claims Unit operations, including claim assignments and report preparation
- Exercise sound judgment for reserving and settlement decisions, including reviewing and approving requests from team members
- Investigate and evaluate claims to ensure fair settlements while complying with legal obligations
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, enhancing their technical and analytical skills

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent insurance education and work experience
- Minimum of 12 years of increasing claim experience, with knowledge in commercial and litigation claim handling
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Proven critical thinking skills with the ability to negotiate and manage conflict

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Fifteen or more years of prior leadership experience in a claims handling setting
- Actively working towards a professional designation in the insurance field
- Demonstrated customer service skills and time management abilities
- Proficiency in claim management systems and Microsoft Office products
- Adaptability to new or changing assignments and priorities
