      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Manage design and construction of complex capital improvement projects for city facilities
      - Perform quality assurance, project monitoring, and risk management for ongoing projects
      - Develop and oversee project budgets, including managing grants and expenditures
      - Prepare and review project contracts, specifications, and documentation for compliance
      - Collaborate with various stakeholders, including contractors and city departments, to ensure project success

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field
      - Minimum of five years of construction project management experience
      - Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
      - Experience managing multiple large-scale construction and design projects
      - Strong communication and project management skills

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Five or more years of experience managing municipal or public capital improvement projects
      - Familiarity with federal grant management and administration
      - Experience with design/build and construction manager-at-risk (CMAR) projects
      - Background in energy management or sustainability initiatives
      - Ability to manage federally funded trail or infrastructure projects
