  About you and this role:

  We are currently seeking a candidate with the right skills and competencies to manage Dow’s Indian sub-continent region. The role will be based in Mumbai, India.

  The Senior Country Director has primary responsibility for the organization's operations in the Indian sub-continent region (regional revenue for 2023 was $1.23 bn with 1264 employees). The candidate will be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction for the country related to growth and people/asset management and represent the organization for legal, tax and regulation purposes. The candidate plays a pivotal role in driving growth by identifying and capitalizing on new customer and government opportunities.

  The Senior Country Director for India will join the EMEAI leadership team and report directly to the Vice President of EMEAI. In addition, they will serve as the chairperson of the Country Leadership team for India.

  Responsibilities:

  • Chair Country Leadership Team for India
  • Experience in crisis management and change management.
  • Drive the Sustainability agenda for the region and specifically for India
  • Ensuring Key Priority & Focus is given to business growth and there is a sense of urgency to deliver results.
  • Drive the Location Optimization initiatives and provide Country Leader support in terms of governance, facilities & other relevant aspects
  • Demonstrates Leadership by influence
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Demonstrates an excellent understanding of stakeholder management and proactively initiates key agenda discussions, both internally and externally
  • Possesses an opportunistic and can-do mindset, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth and success.
  • Ability to delegate and set expectations with the regional leadership members.
  • Ability to understand the key current and emerging legislative environment to set the right Dow regional agenda
  • Ability to role model Dow’s leadership attributes such as trust, transparency, accountability and empowerment
  • Ability to actively support business & functional strategies
  • Drive Internal Communication with Employees and be an external media spokesperson for Dow.
  • Resilience and spirit to drive change & growth
  • Drive Focused I D & E and people development initiatives together with ERG’s, Country Leadership and HR
  • Demonstrating competencies in the areas of leadership, initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Ensuring a safe work environment by working safely and, complying with environmental, health and safety standards
  • Strong work ethic and being able to remain productive in an empowered team environment
  • Demonstrate credibility at the executive level in internal and external organizations
  • Experience in managing people, ideally managing managers of people
  • Extensive management experience with P&L accountability
