About the Role
As the Senior Creative Director at Old Navy, you will be the strategic creative leader responsible for developing and executing compelling visual storytelling across all brand touchpoints. In this role, you will translate marketing strategy into innovative, culturally relevant creative campaigns that elevate the Old Navy brand, inspire customers, and drive business results. You'll lead a team of Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Designers while partnering closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Styling, and other cross-functional leaders. Your creative vision will shape how our brand comes to life through photography, design, digital content, and in-store experiences, ensuring a consistent and distinctive brand presence that resonates with our target audience.What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership
• Lead the conceptualization and development of seasonal campaign concepts and integrated marketing initiatives
• Serve as the ultimate approver and accountable leader for campaign creative from concept to execution to delivery
• Partner with senior leadership to align creative vision with business objectives and marketing strategies
• Oversee and approve creative briefs, campaign concepts, and execution plans
Creative Direction
• Approve and be accountable for brand and product imagery (campaign, open primaries, signage) for site, email, in-store and paid media
• Approve photographer selection, on-set mood/direction, locations, studio sets, and hair/makeup overall direction, Casting?
• Drive innovative approaches to visual storytelling, photography, design, and brand expression
• Mentor and develop Creative Directors and other creative talent
Team Leadership
• Build and lead high-performing creative teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
• Oversee resource planning and prioritization across multiple projects and seasons
• Provide clear direction, feedback, and inspiration to creative team members
• Collaborate with partner teams (Editorial, Styling, Digital, Marketing) to ensure
integrated execution
Brand Guardianship
• Ensure all creative work upholds and enhances the Old Navy brand identity and positioning
• Drive the ongoing evolution of the brand's visual identity to maintain relevance and differentiation
• Balance creative vision with commercial objectives to deliver work that is both
distinctive and effective
• Stay ahead of cultural, design, and industry trends to inform creative strategy
Who You Are
• 15+ years of creative experience with at least 8-10 years in leadership roles at major consumer brands
• Proven track record developing innovative, market-leading campaigns that drive
business results
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, creative vision, and versatility
• Deep expertise in creative direction, photography, art direction, and integrated
marketing
• Experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams across various channels and
touchpoints
• Strong understanding of retail, fashion, and consumer marketing
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into creative solutions
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire and influence at all levels
• Experience partnering effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Merchandising, and Digital
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Communications, or related creative fieldAbout the company
