Developing analyses on different sources of data (structured and unstructured) using advanced predictive modeling techniques
Use analytics and statistics to influence business solutions for internal stakeholders (Underwriting, Sales, Claims, etc.) with the goal of innovating and creating value for our clients
Constructing complex mandates by diagnosing the issue and advising on potential solutions
Keeping pace with new advancements in advanced analytics and applying them to your work
Communicating the assumptions and results of your analyses effectively to various internal stakeholders and management
Representing the actuarial department on decision-making committees or in meetings
Acting as the subject matter expert and a reference source in your field for other teams in the organization
Coaching more junior members of the team.
Work place: Position located in Mississauga, Montreal, Calgary, Levis or Toronto , depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work #LI-Hybrid
Number of jobs available : 1
Bachelor’s in Data Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics
A minimum of six years of relevant experience
Masters degree (an asset)
Successful completion of at least three CAS exams (an asset)
For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required.
P&C insurance knowledge
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, VBA, R, Python
Strong communication skills in French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients.

NV-10 As a Senior Data Science Advisor, you help transform data into value-added information to facilitate decision-making within the organization.
Your job is to get teams to leverage data to its full potential so they can achieve their business goals.
You provide leadership in terms of identifying, prioritizing and creating opportunities to leverage data within large-scale projects.
You serve as specialist advisor to help data management teams design and develop analytical solutions that meet their needs. You also help the business sectors understand how to operationalize these solutions and manage the ensuing change.
Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work.
You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex initiatives that have an impact on the directions of the business sector.
You serve as resource person and coach for decision-making bodies. You frequently interact with stakeholders working in many other fields in order to understand and communicate the issues and influence the decision being made.General Information on the Position
