      AstraZeneca's CVRM (Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic) portfolio is unmatched and continues to deliver new treatment options for patients. AstraZeneca's strategy in CVRM focuses on ways to reduce morbidity, mortality and organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across cardiovascular (CV) disease, diabetes and chronic kidney-disease indications. The patient-centric approach is reinforced by science-led life-cycle management programs and technologies, including early research into regenerative methods.

      The Senior Director, Access Strategy will have an exciting opportunity to be part of the CVRM TA located in our Wilmington, DE facility. In this position, the Senior Director will be responsible for leading US market access strategy for multiple brands in the CVRM portfolio. The Senior Director will collaborate with the functions across Market Access, Medical, Finance and the rest of CVRM TA, and develop insights and strategies to improve our brand’s access, patient affordability and net price. The successful candidate will thrive in a rapid changing market access environment, create a clear goals and inspiring plans, develop strong partnerships and make difficult decisions.

      Main Duties and Responsibilities

      • Responsible for leading the cross-functional team through the development and implementation of impactful access strategies to meet the brand net sales goals
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct in-depth analyses that drive identification of rich market insights across payers
      • Budget and approval bids for access supported by deal no deal analysis and negotiation strategy
      • Align needs for new outcome-based contracts, innovative pricing and payer evidence to the access strategy
      • Accountable for promotional resources and training to all market access customer facing teams and field sales access optimization
      • Responsible for financial assumptions for access and affordability input and insights to create the most accurate net sales and net price forecasts
      • Present market insights, strategic plans and financial analysis to US senior leadership
      • Understand policy changes and impact on the business and input on priorities for policy team
      • Obtain and manage the brand budget to execute the operational plan
      • Oversee team to of Access Strategy Directors, Associate Directors and / or Managers including but clearly delineate accountability and ensure access strategy plans are executed to meet the brand needs
      • Effectively work cross-functionally with across the Commercial interface marketing and sales to pull-through brand access and affordability programs with HCPs
      • Senior Director will be responsible for leading and developing a team including, but not limited to, ongoing performance development, career growth and talent management to shape the culture and develop a diverse pipeline for future Access Strategy leaders
      • Perform all company business in accordance with regulations and company policies and procedures

      Essential Requirements

      • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business, marketing or the sciences
      • More than 10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical / biopharmaceutical market; preferably in Payer Marketing, Brand Marketing, Market Research, Account Management, and / or Field Sales
      • Strong understanding of US market access landscape, healthcare system pricing and reimbursement
      • Proven track record of consistent achievement or overachievement in developing and delivering strategic and operational plans within a therapeutic or business area
      • Demonstrated experience in working within cross-functional business units essential
      • Strong financial acumen with the ability to assess and drive results
      • Strong skills to develop and deliver communication to senior leadership
      • Demonstrated ability to develop marketing promotional plans and leveraging creative agencies
      • Ability to collaborate and negotiate with multiple functions and accounts in multiple segments
      • Ability to successfully lead through change, complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed environment
      • Demonstrated Learning Agility
      • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%)

      Preferred Requirements

      • Advanced Degree in business, marketing, or the sciences
      • Experience in customer facing roles
      • Financial and forecasting experience
