      The Permanente Federation LLC (the Federation/TPF) is the national leadership and consulting organization for the eight Permanente Medical Groups (PMGs), which, together with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plans (KFHP) and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (KFH), comprise Kaiser Permanente. The PMGs employ almost 23,000 physicians, approximately 90,000 nurses, other clinicians and staff, and provide care to over 12.2 million Kaiser Permanente members. The Federation works on behalf of the PMGs to optimize care delivery and advance Permanente Medicine – medicine that is patient centered, evidence based, technology enabled, culturally responsive, team delivered, and physician led.       Will lead a team of consultants and analysts in the development and ongoing production of reports and analyses supporting quality, care delivery, and operational needs of TPF and the PMGs. This position will support the Vice President, TPF Analytics by providing direction and oversight to projects assigned to this team in alignment with TPF priorities. This position will also partner with leaders in other analytic areas to oversee joint projects addressing clinical quality, care delivery, and medical group operations. The incumbent will lead collaborative analytic efforts among the PMGs to meet the needs of medical group leaders. The Sr. Director will provide analytic consultation to TPF, PMG and KFHP senior leaders and ensure appropriate understanding of clinical and operational data leading to valid interpretations of reports and analyses. This position will also be responsible for assessing the technology needs of TPF Analytics and developing a strategic plan to support the needs.


      Essential Responsibilities:
      • Supports senior TPF and PMG leaders by providing analytic products to address key operational and care delivery issues across a broad range of topics, including communication needs, product development and assessment, and efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of care delivery.
      • Supports the VP, TPF Analytics in developing and implementing an analytic strategy positioning TPF and the PMGs to lead quality and care delivery analytics.
      • Consults with senior leaders and key stakeholders in TPF, PMG’s and KFHP to help define key clinical and operational questions and the most appropriate data and analyses to address the questions; provides expert analytic and methodological consultation to customers to ensure valid and meaningful results.
      • Manages a team of consultants and analysts in defining and developing reports and analyses to meet customer needs; provides project direction and oversight to ensure alignment with key objectives.
      • Leads high priority and complex projects involving multiple stakeholder groups.
      • Establishes strong relationships with key PMG leaders and facilitates collaboration among PMG analytic teams as needed to meet the needs of medical group leaders.
      • Develops collaborative relationships and partners with analytic leaders in KFHP to lead national projects supporting organizational priorities.
      • Serves as TPF/PMG representative in KP national committees, task forces, and initiatives and provides medical group perspective to development of analytic solutions and technologies; ensures appropriate PMG engagement in definition and development of measures, reports, and analyses.
      • Ensures high quality results and deliverables that meet client and organizational needs.
      • Ensures appropriate allocation of resources and staffs projects to ensure that teams are composed of individuals with appropriate skills and expertise.
      • Identifies opportunities to leverage new analytic methods, technologies and tools and develops a strategic plan for ensuring high-level capabilities in TPF Analytics.
