      Introduction to role:

      Are you ready to challenge the status quo and make a significant impact in the healthcare industry? We are seeking a Senior Director of Communications for our Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) portfolio. This role is pivotal in supporting AstraZeneca’s ambition to identify and address the root causes of CVRM diseases. You will be responsible for the strategy and execution of global communications for AstraZeneca medicines and disease areas within the CVRM portfolio.

      Accountabilities:

      As the Senior Director of Communications, you will deliver communications for landmarks/news flow, own the development and delivery of communications and patient advocacy group strategies, develop a compelling narrative for agreed areas of portfolio, collaborate with global and regional media relations, lead internal communications strategy and implementation, engage with external partners, lead issues preparedness and crisis management, ensure effective use of internal and external resources, and lead programme delivery and outcomes.

      Crucial Skills/Experience:

      • Graduate with solid understanding of global Pharmaceutical market and innovative life sciences environment

      • Established track-record of delivering impactful, strategic and content-rich communications programmes

      • Substantial experience of healthcare communications gained in-house at a leading multinational biopharma company or at a global agency

      • Authoritative communications and writing skills

      • Significant experience of leading issues management in a similar environment/for global brands/disease areas

      • Strong media relations experience

      • Strong patient advocacy group relationship building experience

      • Strong digital capability including track record for using organic and paid-for opportunities in pharmaceutical company/medical settings

      • Strong internal communications capability including understanding of effective channel management, engagement strategies and organisational change communications

      • Validated capability to influence and counsel leaders and teams across functions and geographical boundaries

      • Experience of crafting and translating scientific/technical content for a broad range of audiences.
