- Bachelor degree in business, communications, marketing, health field or related field or equivalent combination of studies in a related field with significant leadership experience
- 7 years recent related senior leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management to deliver high quality services
- Proven experience in a leadership role in communications, marketing, engagement, or public relations, preferably in the healthcare sector
- Master’s degree and/or other advanced accreditation will be considered an asset
- Highly developed networks that can be leveraged to support the transformation of health service and delivery will be considered an asset
- Experience and knowledge in emerging technology is preferred
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Crisis communication experience and ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to drive collaborative communications strategies in support of the organization’s priorities
- Experience managing budgets and resources effectively
- Demonstrated expertise in the development of communications strategies in support of reputation and branding, including media relations, executive visibility, stakeholder relationship-building and crisis/issue management
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results
- $65.6188 - $82.0237 hourly ($127,956 - $159,946 annually)
- Defined benefit pension plan with extensive health and dental benefits
- Generous vacation and time off package
- Temporary, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
- Main office will be located at NSH Corporate Offices - Lovett Lake (Bayers Lake)
- Hybrid work available. Successful incumbent will be required to be on site at Lovett Lake Offices as needed

Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSH) is seeking a visionary Senior Director to lead our Communications, Engagement, and Marketing (CEM) team. If you are ready to drive transformative change and elevate our organization's reputation through innovative methods and strategy, this role is for you!
The Communications, Engagement and Marketing (CEM) team's vision is to foster trust and confidence in the health care system with all Nova Scotians through proactive, transparent, empathetic and data driven communications, engagement and marketing.
As the Senior Director of CEM, you will lead all aspects of communication, marketing, and engagement strategies at NSH. Your responsibilities will include internal and external communications, crisis management, branding, public engagement, promotion and leveraging emerging technologies to enhance our services and outreach efforts.
The successful incumbent will oversee the management and evolution of the Nova Scotia Health brand, ensuring consistent messaging and brand representation across all communication channels. They will be prepared to create and advance agile pilot projects using new and emerging technology to explain the performance of the NSH system, working system partners and private sector to advance this work. As Senior Director of CEM, you will help to develop, lead and champion agile processes and structure to better serve the communications, engagement and marketing needs of NSH, as it transforms to be a global leader in healthcare.About You
