- Lead and manage a team of demand planning leaders, providing ongoing guidance, support and coaching to ensure their success.
- Empower the team to lead and manage their demand plan for their assigned division, and share best practices across the team
- Establish and lead a high performing team by developing leaders, focusing on team climate, and recruiting and retaining diverse achiever talent.
- Collaborate with other leaders and stakeholders to drive cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment and successful outcomes
- Functional leadership:
- Accountable for accurate demand planning forecasts for all divisions within NUSA.
- Provide strategic direction, vision, and accountability to all demand planners.
- Enhance and lead the strategy to exceed customer service levels by ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time by reducing lead times and improving fulfillment rates.
- Ensure that the demand planning team is aligned with the priorities and activities of the business at a strategic level.
- Ensure that finished goods inventory targets by SKU are developed and maintained based on service level objectives, forecast error, and replenishment lead times.
- Participate in relevant MBP meetings and weekly operational meetings when needed or upon escalation.
- Provide strategic support on issues involving customer prioritization and customization, product renovation/innovation and network optimization.
- Collaborate with ensuring supply leaders to align demand planning forecasts with supply plans, production capacities, and financial goals.
- Serve as the escalation point in S&OP, understanding the key business drivers impacting the monthly Demand Review across all NUSA divisions
- Monthly Business Planning (MBP) / Enterprise Business Planning (EBP):
- From a Supply Chain / Fulfillment perspective, the demand planning sr director will partner with the Divisional Business Supply Chain Director for the MBP process. This role will be responsible for the process enablement that seeks to gain cross functional alignment (Marketing, Sales, Finance and Supply Chain) and support the creation of a consensus demand plan after evaluating options and understanding implications to cost, profit and key metrics enabling the flow of issues, performance monitoring, and strategic/operational/tactical decision making across the organization with a clear cadence of meetings and information flow.
- The demand planning sr director will be actively engaged in the relevant MBP process meetings, such as DSR. Will participate in other MBP meetings when needed as point of escalation.
- Strategic leadership:
- Develop strategies for the long term (3-5 years) that create opportunities for breakthrough performance and help avoid major issues before they arise.
- Enable best in class performance through structure, process and tool changes.
- Act as a functional leader enabling the Supply Chain process, having a holistic view of the Supply Chain E2E process.
- Innovation:
- Increased 'Speed to Market' through effective coordination of Innovation & Renovation execution. Across all supply planning, DRP, and factory supply chain teams, manage the critical paths leading to improved adherence to timelines. The role also involves challenging within the team and across the end to end supply chain
- Benchmark externally to understand resources needed in order to achieve best in class demand planning, advocate for resources accordingly
- Master’s degree in business or related field or the equivalent combination of education and 10-12 years’ experience.
- 6-8 years of progressive leadership responsibility
- Detailed knowledge of: Demand and Supply Planning, MBP Best Practices and processes
- Understands Fulfillment (transportation and deployment) process to support on issue resolution and decision making during critical situation.
- Understands MRP and Detail Scheduling process to support on issue resolution and decision making during critical situations.
- Strong understanding of T&P (Manufacturing Capabilities) & Procurement that will support during crisis situation and escalations.
- People leadership experience required
- Ten or more years of relevant operational experience in Supply Chain at market/business/network level is useful, in at least one of the following areas:
- Demand & Supply Planning (Divisional), Decision Support (Supply Chain), Factory Operations, Fulfillment, MBP Process.
- Leadership role & proven success in people development in one of the functions across Generating Demand or other Ensuring Supply areas of:
- Technical & Production- Customer Service
- Demand & Supply Planning
- Purchasing: Desirable to have had worked on a leadership position in a LEAN organization, who has adapted LEAN concepts and tools as part of their way of working. Desirable to have had experience implementing LEAN concepts and tools.
- Experience working with a shared service, process driven or service center environment (Center of Excellence).
- Experience working in an IMS business required.
- Excellent analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data
- Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives on tight deadlines and delegate accordingly
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and develop individuals and teams effectively
- Strong negotiation and collaboration skills to influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization
- Strong project management skills beneficial
- Strong and creative problem-solving skills and future-looking lens
- Ability to develop strategy in ambiguous situations
- Strong understanding and curiosity in E-Commerce
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organized, methodical thinker with excellent decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficiency in Power BI preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Strong business orientation and solid understanding of End-to-End Supply Chain processes

Position Summary: Reporting directly to the VP, Demand & Supply Planning, the Sr Demand Planning Director is the primary Supply Chain leader for NUSA-wide demand planning forecasts. The Sr Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the Demand Planning function to develop the aligned sales and operational forecast for all Nestle products.
This role holds significant influence over key stakeholders throughout all divisions and the entire end-to-end one operations team. The Sr Director will establish regular collaboration with finance, commercial, and sales leaders within each division to develop a precise demand forecast. The Sr Director will ensure effective communication of the forecast's implications across the supply chain to ensure seamless fulfillment of demand.
The Senior Director will provide leadership and mentorship for a team of leaders to ensure the strategic vision is successfully executed in each area. This position will also prioritize the professional development and growth of their leaders and entire organization to ensure focus on functional competency growth.
This role will be based in Solon (Cleveland) Ohio or Arlington Virginia and will require a hybrid schedule mix of in office/work from home. Relocation assistance to the area is available.
