      Technology Engineering & Operations team is a shared services organisation, that works across Product Development teams to empower Zillow employees to Adapt Quickly and gain efficiencies. We are passionate about building foundational platforms and solutions enabling software development teams.       About the role

      Embark on a transformative role as the Senior Director of Developer Experience, where you'll spearhead the development and operations of modern tools across Zillow Group. Your visionary leadership aims to reshape operations, introduce self-service capabilities, and build platforms that offer a seamless end-to-end experience for developers. Collaborating closely with ZG Development and Operations teams, you'll align services with product direction, placing the customer at the core of decision-making.       As a Senior Director of Developer Experience Engineering, you will:

      • Proven vision, leadership, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to proactively drive and deliver technical solutions that scale across various engineering teams.

      • Collaborate with senior engineering leaders to continuously evaluate and update engineering processes to improve efficiency, engineering culture, and make it easy to get things done

      • Own the strategic development and operations of advanced Development Tools, leading multiple teams for optimal efficiency.

      • Grow and scale an organisation that prioritises engineering excellence, reliability, and predictable delivery, leading the way with standard processes, metrics, and service-level objectives

      • Recruit engineering leaders and engineers to strengthen your team. Take an active role in building, mentoring, and growing an impactful team

      • Infuse a customer-centric approach into decision-making, redefining operations to enable self-service capabilities.

      • Develop and support a culture of innovation to constantly test new ideas, ensuring a seamless developer experience

      This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

      In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $279,500.00 - $446,500.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

      In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

      Who you are

      • Demonstrated ability as an engineering leader
      • Proven track record of delivering production infrastructure in a cloud-centric architecture, driving adoption of new technologies, handling vendor relationships, scaling teams, and achieving results

      • Experience growing and building diverse and inclusive teams, working with partners, and collaborating across organisational boundaries

      • Entrepreneurial energy, ability to handle ambiguity, drive consensus, communicate well with both technical and non-technical co-workers, and work collaboratively across groups

      • Strong writing skills

      • Experience in building and leading a geographically distributed team

      • Expertise in AWS cloud technologies
