- Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we're looking for a Senior Director of Business Applications to lay the foundation for an end-to-end connected value chain.
- Reporting directly to the VP Application Management, you will have the unique opportunity to shape our digital future based on a best-in-class business application architecture. You will lead a practice covering all Business Applications, besides SAP, overseeing the application landscape and ensuring operational incidents and ongoing business change management are handled effectively and efficiently. - Lead the Business Application practice, reporting directly to the VP Application Management
- Oversee the technology architecture and development of relevant critical applications product features for deployment
- Ensure that appropriate technologies are introduced into the applications environment including future-proofing of technical solutions
- Define and manage the Applications' landscape architecture
- Ensure that application-managed services are meeting the requirements of the business and providing optimal business value
- Manage application changes and testing to ensure a stable application environment
- Plan and deliver projects and releases to meet business requirements following established project methodologies, incl. communications and appropriate tollgate reviews
- Ensure service delivery capabilities and processes are understood by key stakeholders
- Oversee resource planning for implementations in line with the complexity of implementations, incl. managing consulting costs for implementations
- Ensure cost-effective delivery of application services that meet critical service levels and key measures
- Oversee the global business application support function for incident mgmt and change mgmt (incl. cultural change)
- This is a global leadership role with key stakeholders located in Brussels, Zurich, and other locations of our global footprint, and thus requires up to 25% travel.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IS Management, Engineering, Business, or a comparable field
- Relevant professional qualifications such as PMI certification preferred
- Proficiency in English
- Minimum of 15 years in the IT industry with in-depth experience in managing business applications architectures
- Ability to manage large-scale application enhancements and change management projects
- Experience in managing global and regional IT implementation programs and projects
- Skills to create internal and external partnerships/networks across the organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with senior management and describe complex technical solutions in business language
- Extensive experience in managing outsourced vendors as well as offshore resource management
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing multi-cultural, dispersed teams to drive change collaboratively on a global scale
- Exhibits a passion for technology and innovation, constantly seeking new and creative solutions to enhance processes, decision-making and user experiences
- Puts a strong emphasis on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different levels of the organization and with external partners
- Possesses good communication skills, capable of complex strategies clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical audiences
- Demonstrates ability to analyze complex situations, identify critical issues, and make bold, strategic decisions to drive progress
