      The Senior Director of Enrollment, Research and Insights for the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) is responsible for data reporting, analysis, and strategic recommendations for student enrollment. Directs centralized data management, analysis, research, information dissemination and reporting for SEM, including the 15th Day Enrollment report for the State of Ohio and other federal agencies. Under general direction of the Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management and a strong working connection with the Assistant Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management, the Senior Director provides information to the university leaders for decisions regarding the current and projected composition of the student body. Serves as a data partner in the strategic enrollment planning effort with the colleges and academic support units to ensure congruence with university goals. Responsible for facilitating with other university leaders the goal setting processes each year to determine the student body size and characteristics. Facilitates strategic enrollment management goal setting for student body size and characteristics as they relate to the enrollment, retention, and graduation goals of The Ohio State University. Deploys marketing and yield analytics strategy to provide real-time analyses of student behavior and make recommendations to SEM leadership. Works in collaboration with Office of Strategic Enrollment Management, Undergraduate Education, Student Life, Institutional Research, the Graduate School, Office for Diversity and Inclusion, the regional colleges, and University Honors staffs to set enrollment goals and implementation strategies.

      Leads a team to shape the class by recruitment, financial aid, yield strategies, directs analysis and research to inform these processes. Provides data and makes recommendations of students to be considered by the Faculty Committee on Admissions at final mid-March Admissions Review. Serves as a member and subject matter expert for the Enrollment Management Steering Committee, Council on Enrollment and Student Progress, Faculty Committee on Admissions, and various college admissions/enrollment committees. In consultation with SEM leadership, Institutional Research and Planning, and SEM Marketing and Communications, establishes and implements a communication plan to inform campus personnel about enrollment management issues, concepts, and progress. Works in collaboration with the Office of Business & Finance to develop annual enrollment project models for the university budget process. Serves as a consultant for strategic market research and retention assessment initiatives. Partners with technology staff to utilize emerging data delivery methods.

      Directs the research agenda for the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management. Manages and leads the staff of Analysis and Reporting. At the request of the Vice Provost of Strategic Enrollment Management, provides data analytic reporting with regards to pre-enrollment, enrollment inquiries and research. Promotes a culture of utilization of machine learning algorithms to enhance, market analytics, and other tools to enhance yielding and enrollment strategy. Support analysis and research projects designed to share results of work to broader community. Establish process for analysis and evaluation of research, reporting, and analysis requests for consideration and approval.

      Minimum Education Required
      Master’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

      Qualifications
      Required:
      Master's degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience required. 12 years of relevant experience required. Institutional research, data science, or analytic experience in an enrollment, admissions, financial aid, public sector, or private sector organization required. Database management experience required. Must have a high level of proficiency in analysis techniques, databases, query/programming languages, reporting tools, spreadsheets, and word-processing.

      Desired:
      Demonstrated advanced skills deploying, leading, and conducting analysis using machine learning algorithms and/or marketing analytics. Experience working in higher education administration preferred. 15 or more years of relevant experience preferred.

      Additional Information:

      The pay range for this job profile is $146,000 - $195,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
