Lead the design and implementation of standardized processes across teams to enhance operatio nal eff iciency and effectiveness.
Work with various content and production teams to develop and deploy metrics to estimate and monitor team/individual capacity throughout the authoring and finalization workflow across 38 AP Exam subjects
Develop a multi-year production strategy that meets the diverse process and schedule needs of the full AP Exam portfolio in concert with ongoing assessment tech nology development
Facilitate cataloguing and integration of gold source AP Exam components that must be easily accessible across multiple teams and tech nology platforms
Refine the tools and processes that undergird the 2-year production process for AP Exams to increase clarity, collaboration, and confidence in navigating changes
Improve the substance and organization of key process documentation and create an intuitive and comprehensive resource library for internal stakeholders
Develop, refine, and execute a robust training strategy for crucial cross-functional work processes for the 150+ team members contributing to the production of AP Exams
Lead the development of a n internal research library for AP, establi shing integrations with major research services and course-specific publications
Develop a robust roll-out and training program to ensure all key stakeholders can access and leverage appropriate research resources
Bachelor's degree in business or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
7–10 years of experience in strategic planning, product, program, or project management, ideally in education
Familiar with production environments and comfortable navigating complex workflows
Tech nically fluent—able to spot opportunities for automation and partner with product and tech teams to shape solutions
Skilled at documenting and translating process and system needs
Highly organized, process-oriented, and outcomes-focused
Strong communicator and collaborator; able to build trust across teams and levels
The ability to travel 6-8 times a year to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business
Authorization to work in the United States
A passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Tools (or a willingness to learn)
Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging tech nologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and a comfort learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively.

The hiring range for this role is $ 104,000 – 155,000

About the Team
AP® is a rigorous academic program built on the commitment, passion and hard work of students and educators from secondary schools and higher education. With almost 40 courses in a wide variety of subject areas, AP provides willing and academically prepared high school students with the opportunity to study and learn at the college level. The AP program is rapidly expanding its develo pment of instructional and assessment products under the leadership of the growing Assessment Production team. The cross-functional team consists of professionals with expertise in a variety of domains that are integral to the production of AP Exam content.
To support the continued production of high-quality assessments, the AP Program is looking to fill the role of Senior Director, AP Assessment Process Strategy.
About the Opportunity
The Senior Director, AP Assessment Process Strategy will play an integral role in the AP Assessment Production lifecycle, providing cross-functional integration and oversight for the many teams that contribute to the complex work of authoring, finalizing , and deploying AP Exams. This process-m inded leade r will balance strategic planning for the short-term and the long-term, leveraging data to identify and troubleshoot potential risks and ensuring the 150+ team members who contribute to the development of AP Exams are appropriately resourced to deliver the flawless work expected by AP teachers and students.
As Senior Director, AP Assessment Process Strategy , you are a crucial member of the 40+ member production team building and delivering AP Exams for 38+ AP subjects. You are a collaborative, insightful, and highly motivated professional, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for educational opportunity . You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are creative with solutioning on tight timelines.
In this role, you will:
Oversee cross-functional operational processes essential to the production of AP Exams (60%)
Guide the growth of team and tech nological capabilities to increase the efficacy and efficiency of AP Exam production (20%)
Ensure all AP assessment team members have access to high-quality scholarly resources (20%)
