Job Summary
This position acts in a decision-making and leadership role for all Medical Center security matters. Provides strategic development, planning, and oversight of the integrated workplace safety programs, security measures and all related programs, strategies, initiatives, policies and procedures. Create and development and implementation of security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for associates and visitors that supports the delivery of patient care across Montefiore Medical Center facilities. Effectively maintains leadership in a site-based environment.
This position will hire, train, supervise and evaluate the managers who oversee the security staff. Ensure that all responsibilities and functions are clearly defined. Develop programs to improve the effectiveness of the department and overall operations. Additionally, will have oversight of regulatory matter related to Security within Montefiore Medical Center.
Requirements
Master’s Degree preferred, bachelor’s degree Required in Law Enforcement, Public Safety, or Police Science Field preferred.
10 years work related experience required. Hospital experience preferred.
Must have valid NYS Security License within 6 months of Hire.
Must be an intelligent and articulate leader who can serve as an effective member of management and is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
Superior communication skills as it adheres to documentation in writing memos, manuals, policies, and procedures.
Excel in the selection and development of individuals with high potential talent. Understands personal strengths and weaknesses. Assist subordinates in reaching new levels of skills, knowledge, and attitudes.
Improve the department's contribution to the organization by building upon and developing new strategies for improvement.
Display a strong understanding of current and relevant issues. Exercises sound judgment on behalf of others and the organization.
A leader who can combine relationship building skills, communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills and well-developed business acumen to lead through influence.
Ability to have personal influence and credibility to be able to work from behind the scenes within a politically complex process.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience in financial management of resources and assets. Experience designing, developing, and implementing project plans, programs, and budgets.
Extensive knowledge of compliance with regulatory agencies.
Trustworthy with the ability to keep matters sensitive and confidential.
