- Define key business segments for long-term analytical monitoring (such as income segments) and near-term deep dives (such as those disproportionately impacted by inflation)
- Develop an analytical agenda, in partnership with other SMB Intelligence teams, analytics groups in other lines of business, and the JPMC Institute
- Author internal and external reports on segments of heightened interest
- Create automated analytical artifacts that monitor the health of key segments to the business
- Contribute analytical views and talking points in support of investor relations and external affairs
- Coordinate research efforts as it relates to segments in the health of businesses across the JPMC organization
- Drive part of the editorial calendar for Consumer and Business Intelligence
- Engage with community institutions, such as policy think tanks and local governments
- 8+ years of analytics experience; could include prior experience in finance, economics, analytics or related field as well as people management.
- Robust knowledge of market economics & econometric modeling of fundamental economic relationships
- In depth appreciation and experience looking at business financial data
- Ability to quickly translate and communicate microeconomic and macroeconomic trends in business data
- Subject matter expertise in business financial health frameworks and segmentation methodologies
- Advanced analytical mindset; you love digging into the data and defining what it tells you
- Excellent writing skills; ability to effectively translate complex data into actionable insights and strategies for varied audiences
- Demonstrably effective communication skills; Strong listening skills as well as the skills to persuade particularly based on evidence; Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with all levels of employees, including executive audiences and across multiple stakeholder groups
- Exceptional problem solving, and analysis skills combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate findings to all levels throughout the organization
- Advanced degree in an applicable field

As a Senior Economist on the Consumer and Business Intelligence Team, you'll drive the analytical and publication agenda for business segment insights. You’ll leverage JPMC business-level data to inform internal and external audience’s understanding of broader macro-economic trends. Consumer and Business Intelligence is a new organization that monitors, coordinates, and develops a holistic internal & external view of the financial well-being of consumers and small businesses through the lens of JPMC data. As the nation’s largest bank, we are uniquely positioned to inform public perspective on the direction of the economy. During a time of unprecedented macroeconomic uncertainty, identifying segmented trends is of heightened importance. As this is a newly formed organization, you will report to the Head of Consumer and Business Intelligence.
