Full Stack Web developer
Software development that makes a difference
This role is within our Commercial Digital team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer.
You will be responsible for developing software for consumer facing and internal products across more than 100 countries. We create the end-to-end experience for online sales/subscriptions of cars, global campaigns as well as frameworks for other parts of Volvo cars. Your responsibilities will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts and mainly product development.
A start-up mindset where you have quickly developed prototypes and catalysed product development in a fast paced, fluid environment is a plus. Being experienced with agile development and a champion of software development best practices is a must, as well as leading and supporting your teammates with technical decisions.
Skills and competencies:
You are a seasoned full stack software engineer, familiar with backend coding using Java or C#, frontend coding using Javascript or Typescript.To succeed in this role, you need to have a minimum of 10 years of work experience developing software and showcasing the following traits:
Comfortable with ambiguity in requirements
Iterative development mindset
Experience in a continuous delivery environment
Displaying a growth mindset
Ability to write software that fellow engineers can understand
Experience with deploying, running and scaling code in production
Experience in co-creation practices like pair programming
Product mindset
Empathy towards users, fellow engineers and co-workers
An open mind and willingness to learn and help others learn
Microservices & Event Driven Architecture
Knowledgeable in Java or C# and the related ecosystem.Familiarity with server-side programming languages and runtimes and the ability to choose the right designs for a problem is what is really required.
Familiarity with Kubernetes in a cloud setting (Azure or AWS) is a big plus
Very comfortable with Typescript and JavaScript programming and in building UIs with HTML and CSS
Expertise in React or Next.js frameworks
Experience working in a micro front ends and BFFs
Experience in scaling graphql (experience in graphql federation is a plus)
Familiarity with Tactical Domain Driven Design
Can design front end components with testability in mind
Experience balancing developer experience with web performance is a big plusWho you are:
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
