Job Description

- Managing digital directories, databases, and shapefiles related to various software packages used by the team (Petrel, Petra, ArcPro, Spotfire, PowerBi)
- Using computer applications to load, manage, quality control, and display well, analytical, or seismic data
- Supporting subsurface database builds (ArcPro, Petrel, Spotfire)
- Subsurface computer mapping, plotting well information, georeferencing, and generating cross sections
- Supporting geoscientists through data mining, problem-solving, and troubleshooting
- Digitizing and scanning hard-copy maps, well data, and diagrams
- Creating PowerPoint slides and maps for management presentations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
- 7+ years of experience as a Geological Technician
- Intermediate level of proficiency in ArcPro
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
- Basic level of knowledge coding in Python or SQL
- Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel domestically up to 10% of the time on a yearly basis
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geosciences, Geography, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Management, other related discipline, or foreign equivalent
- Advanced proficiency in geodesy, enabling data conversions and transformations
- Experience with Petrel, ability to load and QC well & seismic data
- Basic cloud knowledge in MS Azure & AWS
- Ability to maintain the integrity of spatial datasets
- Ability to learn new applications and techniques quickly
- Willingness to work independently and as part of a team

Description
The Exploration, Low Carbon and Geoscience Data team is part of the Geoscience, Exploration and Technology group in the Global Technical Functions (GTF) organization. The Geoscience Data portion of the team supports the global geoscience community via contracts, licensing, data loading, data management and data analytics. Geoscience Analysts hold key roles that influence the success of our organization by supporting our subsurface teams involved in the discovery, appraisal and production phases of the petroleum industry and emerging Low Carbon technologies. The Analyst chosen, will work closely with team members that can include geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, engineers, and IT to shepherd and foster geoscience data.
