      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Engage with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for AWR's positions and recommendations
      - Collaborate with federal agencies to share priorities and gather insights on wildfire policies
      - Develop advocacy materials such as talking points, fact sheets, and comment letters for federal audiences
      - Coordinate with partner organizations and support participation in coalitions and advisory groups
      - Monitor federal legislation and analyze policy proposals related to wildfire risk reduction and recovery

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in federal government relations, congressional affairs, or federal policy analysis
      - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for policymakers
      - Knowledge of federal policy areas related to wildfire, natural resources, and emergency management
      - Demonstrated ability to build relationships with bipartisan and cross-sector partners
      - Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in interactions with government officials

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Education or equivalent work experience in public policy, political science, environmental science, or related fields
      - Experience engaging effectively with federal agencies and Congress
      - Skills in legislative advocacy, negotiation, and persuasion
