      The City of Redondo Beach is looking for a new Human Resources professional to fill the position of either Senior Human Resources Analyst or Human Resources Analyst, depending upon qualifications.
      (Salary for Senior Human Resources Analyst is up to $134,088/year; for Human Resources Analyst up to $125,520/year.)

      The tasks listed below are essential for this position and may include, but are not limited to, the following:

      Recommend and administer human resources policies and procedures; develop, plan, organize, supervise and evaluate assigned human resources or risk management programs, projects and activities; assure City compliance with Federal, State, and City laws and human resources regulations; plan and manage recruitment and selection processes; perform job analyses and compensation studies; administer applicant tracking or other databases/systems; administer employee benefits including but not limited to health, dental, vision and other MOU related benefits; provide quality customer service; manage the human resources budget; prepare information and participate in the City's labor negotiations process; facilitate conflict resolution and administer collective bargaining agreements; evaluate innovative trends in human resources administration; and supervise professional and/or para-professional staff in the conduct of human resources activities.


      For Both Positions:
      B.A. or B.S from an accredited college or university in public administration, human resources
      or a closely-related field is required; a Master's Degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.

      For HR Analyst:
      Two or more years of increasingly responsible experience in government
      operations or a comparable business or non-profit organization is required.

      For Senior HR Analyst:
      Four years public sector human resources experience is required. Relevant knowledge working in public sector recruitments, labor relations, classification and compensation, and employee benefits are all highly desirable.


      CLASSIFICATION:

      The position is exempt from coverage under the Fair Labor Standards Act and employee is a member of the Unclassified Service.

      SELECTION PROCESS:

      The selection process may include but is not limited to: Application review and evaluation, written examination, performance test, reference check and interview. All employment offers made by the City are contingent upon establishing proof of a prospective candidate's legal authorization to work in the United States and successfully passing all components of the pre-employment process. The pre-employment process may include but not be limited to: Reference checks, background investigation, fingerprint-based criminal history check, credit check, degree verification, and post-offer medical examination and drug test. For public safety positions, including positions based in the Police and/or Fire Department(s), the pre-employment process may also include but not be limited to a P.O.S.T. compliant background check, polygraph examination, post-offer medical examination and drug test, and post-offer psychological examination.
