- Supervise one or more HR professional(s);
- Coordinate recruitment activities which involves collaborating with the Recruitment Hub (activities may include getting appropriate approvals to recruit, developing a job description, gathering necessary information to recruit for the role ie. matching it to the workforce plan, cost centre, work location etc…, ensuring the link between recruiters and the hiring manager, interviewing final candidates (for certain levels), developing a compensation recommendation (for certain levels) and arranging for the offer generation;
- Act as an HR Business Partner to the Director of Construction Projects, guide and execute on all the annual HR processes together which include but are not limited to performance management, salary progressions, succession planning and 9Box, and the year end process;
- Provide support to the HR Director and employees at various levels related to the annual succession planning process, 9box activities and development of IDP’s;
- Coordinate the annual salary and performance review process in collaboration and under the direction of the HR Director and in partnership with the Compensation team;
- Keep on top of new and upcoming legislative changes to the ESA;
- Develop and implement new policies and update existing policies;
- Advise and guide managers and provide support to the HR Director on employee relations matters which may include placing employees on a performance improvement plan;
- Plan, coordinate and arrange for employee training;
- Lead the immigration and relocation process for expat assignees coming to the Head Office;
- Develop return to work plans as needed for employees returning to work after an injury or illness who need accommodation;
- Support and answer questions from various employee levels around HR process, cyclical programs, policies, benefits and leaves;
- Partner and support the HR Director with initiatives associated with the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Survey which may include working directly with GPTW to arrange for training, collecting data for survey distribution, working with HR representatives in the regions, survey result distribution and developing presentations;
- Work with the Communications team on important messaging related to employee changes, reorganizations, employee programs and any other relevant and/or critical HR related communications;
- Respond to SpeakUp’s for the Corporate Office;
- Participate in various projects and improvement initiatives as needed;
- All other related tasks.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or any other relevant program;
- CHRP or CHRL designation;
- Ten (10) years of experience in Human Resources;
- Mining or other heavy industry experience;
- Experience as a supervisor;
- French language skills are considered an asset.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from our Corporate Office in Toronto, ON. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
