Direct and maintain an effective quality assurance program, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures across all DEN work areas.
Lead strategic initiatives to align team efforts with DEN’s Vision 100, closely collaborating with the executive team on long-term plans.
Drive innovation by diagnosing problems and actively contributing to solutions, embedding procedural controls to mitigate risk and enhance effectiveness.
Effectively prioritize and allocate resources to achieve short-term and long-term strategies, utilizing them to develop or expand services and operations, while ensuring appropriate utilization within the established budget.
Act as liaison for research and audit standards, leveraging expertise of the Yellow Book (Government Auditing Standards) and interfacing with the City Auditor’s Office to stay ahead on audit recommendations, making proactive suggestions for departmental improvement.
Participate as an active member of DEN’s Finance leadership team to lead airport-wide initiatives that support key strategic objectives
Experience with the distinctive day-to-day operations of DEN or other large airport hubs, demonstrating a solid understanding of the complexities and intricacies of such an environment.
Possession of a CPA and/or CIA certification.
Hands-on knowledge and experience with the Yellow Book and government auditing standards
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Public Policy, Government Analytics, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management comparable to the Internal Audit Manager classification.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Snow/Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.

What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000/year. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which includes but is not limited to:
Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work three (3) days in office at Denver International Airport. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
