In this senior role, you will be leading and contributing to the day to day running of the frontline library services. This role is vital for connecting children, youth, families and whānau with services and programmes in the Whau Local Board libraries. You will be supporting the senior team in the day to day running of the library and provide opportunities to design and deliver literacy and learning activities and initiatives which target tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau, and are driven by community need. A key aspect of this role is that you will be a role model and coach in providing excellent customer service to children and youth and will help to foster a sense of belonging in the Whau.He kōrero mōu: About you
We are seeking a librarian with LIANZA professional registration or someone who has almost completed working towards their LIANZA professional registration.We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to develop stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively
• Comfortable with technology and able to support customers to successfully use information resources and devices that are available at the library
• Experience working with children and young people
• Flexible and collaborative approach in the delivery and design of innovative programmes and events
• Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• Evidence of leadership and coaching skills
• Strong children and youth readers advisory skillsNgā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer
