What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage procurement and operational direction of material handling by truck, ensuring safety and compliance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and service quality
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external truck carriers for logistics optimization
- Develop and manage monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational success
- Negotiate truck freight contracts and oversee the Truck RFQ process for optimal service and cost management
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree considered an asset; applicable work experience may substitute for education
- Proven experience in truck, barge, and/or rail transportation or logistics/supply chain management
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in pivot tables a plus
- Ability to travel up to 20-30% of the time is required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of lime/cement/dry bulk transportation, including rail and vessel operations
- Experience in network optimization and decentralized inventory planning
- Industry certification preferred (PLog., APICS, or other Logistics/Supply Chain Association designation)
- Familiarity with JDE or other ERP systems
