Purpose:

The primary functions for the Data Management Senior Manager are to manage, implement and communicate data management processes for Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety, Epidemiology, and R&D Quality Assurance (PSEQ). Manages a team of data management specialists for Clinical and Postmarketed adverse event data across therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities:

• Provides expert technical understanding of the AbbVie Adverse Event database and other external databases
• Provides technical input and recommendations for PSEQ projects
• Manages and facilitates interactions with external technology vendors. Develops and implements reporting solutions supporting key PSEQ processes
• Operates cross functionally by providing guidance to PSEQ involving data and reporting solutions, participates, and conducts training for reporting tools and systems
• Collaborates and implements processes supporting cross functional processes and solutions
• Collects, organizes, and analyzes large sets of data to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can be used to inform business decisions
• Develops and implements data management strategies, policies, and procedures that ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the organization’s data
• Designs and implements data pipelines, data warehouses, and other data management systems that support the organization’s data analytics and reporting needs
• Collaborates with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into data requirements
• Stays up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data management, and advise senior management on opportunities to leverage new tools and approaches to improve data quality and analytics

Qualifications:

• BS in statistics, computer sciences or other technology related areas.
• A minimum of 3 years computer software experience in database reporting.
• A minimum of 3 years experience with Application Development processes and support.
• A minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
• A minimum of 2 year Pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Advanced knowledge of structured programming principles and documentation procedures.
• Understands database architecture concepts, and strategies and methods for retrieving data.
• Ability to design and develop applications and reports using advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) expertise as well as analyze and critique SQL coding.
• Ability to manage projects.
