- Build and maintain responsive web pages and forms using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Implement front-end SEO best practices, accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance optimizations.
- Collaborate with the digital marketing team to integrate analytics tracking (e.g., GA4, UTMs, event tracking), donation forms, experiments (A/B tests), and content updates.
- Collaborate with the data/marketing teams to establish and maintain conversion tracking, engagement metrics and reporting needs.
- Manage and develop sitemaps, user flows and wireframes for new and updated web initiatives and digital campaigns.
- Help shape the user experience for our online platforms through thoughtful, user-centered design.
- Incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders to iterate quickly and improve usability.
- Ensure any new web pages are placed in the site where they are navigable and not orphaned.
- Partner with the digital marketing team to ensure UX decisions align with analytics insights, behavior data, and optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal design and digital teams to evolve the digital brand while preserving visual consistency.
- Translate campaign concepts into compelling digital layouts that support engagement, storytelling, and fundraising.
- Use tools like Figma or Adobe XD to design components and hand off specs as needed.
- Design with an understanding of heatmaps, scroll depth, engagement patterns, and audience segmentation to inform visual decisions.
- Design and code responsive email templates for newsletters, appeals and automated journeys.
- Ensure cross-client compatibility and accessibility for email communications.
- Ensure templates support email performance tracking, including click maps, link tagging, and deliverability best practices.
- Establish and maintain a scalable, reusable CSS architecture.
- Create and document a front-end style guide and design system to ensure consistency across digital products.
- Build and maintain a UI component library (e.g., buttons, cards, forms, modals) using semantic HTML, accessible markup and reusable classes or components.
- Optimize stylesheets for performance, maintainability and cross-browser compatibility.
- Define and document core design elements (typography, color palette, spacing, iconography, responsive breakpoints, etc.).
- Ensure all components and templates can support tagging, tracking, and analytics implementation requirements.

- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year accredited university in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and practical experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- Years of experience may vary based on the position, duties, and responsibilities. Preferred years of experience is 5+ years of experience in front-end development and digital design, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong design skills and experience using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or Canva.
- Experience designing user-centered digital experiences, including wireframing and prototyping.
- Familiarity with WordPress CMS platforms and email service providers.
- Understanding of front-end SEO, accessibility (WCAG) and performance optimization.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and thrive in a small, collaborative team.
- Awareness of how front-end development and UX influence digital analytics, conversion metrics, and user behavior insights
- Experience with Luminate Online.
- Experience with Salesforce.
- Experience with front-end frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of UX research, A/B testing, and Google Analytics (including GA4 events, tagging, and reporting).
- Comfort with version control systems like Git.
- Experience contributing to data-driven optimization initiatives (heatmaps, session recordings, funnel analysis, etc.) is a plus.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
This position will report to the Director, Digital Marketing Operations, in the interim, and will lead the development of digital experiences that creates awareness, engagement, conversions, and retention among those who want to help in the fight against pancreatic cancer, and those who need help. This role combines technical front-end development and UX with digital analytics responsibilities, and will move fluidly between coding, layout, user experience, brand narrative and data-informed decision-making.
As part of a small and collaborative team, this role will own and manage the front-end of our digital presence, including website updates, landing pages, email templates, SMS, etc. The Senior Manager, Digital Development & Optimization will also partner with our design team to shape the visual direction of our digital communications by creating wireframes, designing user flows and translating ideas into intuitive, responsive experiences; and with project leads to gauge performance and identify opportunities for optimization.

SALARY RANGE: ($90-110k) PanCAN is committed to providing fair and transparent employee pay. Our compensation policy and practices integrate years of relative experience, skills, job duties, functions, responsibilities, education, certifications, expertise, PanCAN seniority, position/title, department, market conditions, and merit, and may also include geographic location. Our base salaries range from Entry level to Experienced and max at Expert level. The base pay range included herein is specific and germane to the job/position/opening as described within this announcement.
