- Oncology Forecasting Leadership: An effective player/coach, you will demonstrate key leadership skills as you lead the forecasting team in addition to delivering your assigned franchise area. Work closely with cross-functional partners to deeply analyze the patient funnel, challenge assumptions, and lead the strategic direction for forecasting efforts.
- Strategic Influence and Leadership: Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, triangulating data and insights to provide impactful recommendations. Drive consensus on forecasting assumptions, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.
- Enhanced Global & Local Collaboration: Elevate our brand narrative by integrating market research insights from global and local partners, aligning patient and revenue goals with broader business strategies.
- Advanced Case Development: Spearheard alignment and collaboratiion with Commercial, Pricing, and Finance teams to create robust cases aligned with organizational objectives.
- Performance Management: Oversee performance tracking and estimation processes, providing accurate and timely updates to leadership. Apply actual performance data and emerging trends to refine forecasts and strategies.
- Proactive Risk and Opportunity Management: Lead in identifying potential risks and opportunities through detailed scenario planning and sensitivity analysis across the oncology portfolio. Foster a culture of proactive decision-making to navigate market complexities.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Marketing, Finance, and other functions to ensure alignment on forecast assumptions and critical analytical assessments. Success hinges on superior communication, consultative, and influencing skills, underpinned by a robust foundation in forecasting expertise and quantitative technical skills.
- Talent Development: Help to mentor and train a pipeline of forecasting and performance talent, ensuring the team possesses strong skills in interpreting primary market research and secondary data analyses.
- Educational Background: Advanced Science Degree (PhD, MSc, MBiotech or similar), Health Economics, MBA, or related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in forecasting, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, with a demonstrated track record of strategic impact and team leadership.
- Strategic and Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex data, identify strategic insights, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills with experience in managing impactful teams. Strong capability in mentoring, developing talent, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to simplify sophisticated information for a variety of audiences.
- Critical Thinking and Planning: Advanced critical thinking and planning skills, with a keen ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovative solutions.
- Adaptability and Prioritization: Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, aligning team efforts with business objectives.

The Oncology Finance and Forecasting team at AstraZeneca Canada, supports the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) and partners with each of the organization’s brand teams to drive strategic decisions by providing world-class finance business partnering and forecasting capabilities. It is comprised of Finance Business Partnering, which drives overall P&L management, and the Forecasting Business Partnering to establish industry-leading capabilities and advance standard methodologies to drive business impact.
