      Purpose

      ~ The Genesis Senior Manager, Distribution, is responsible for the efficient allocation of new Genesis automobiles and crossovers to Genesis Motor America (GMA) franchised dealers. This manager is also responsible for sales volume planning in coordination with Hyundai Motor Corporation in South Korea. The role is tasked with developing a working relationship with all ports of entry for Genesis products in the United States and with developing a working partnership with these facilities. The Sr. Manager, Genesis Distribution should also provide leadership and support to their direct reports.

      Major Responsibilities

      ~ Oversee the system, processes and procedures related to the distribution of new Genesis vehicles in the U.S. including production and wholesale forecasting, vehicle ordering and vehicle receiving. Volume planning is also a key responsibility.

      ~ The Distribution team, reporting to this position, will oversee the accuracy of the distribution system as it pertains to functions such as new model set up, pricing, and data communication with HMC production control (orders).

      ~ Responsible for the coordination of the critical elements of vehicle forecasting, production ordering and for defining and implementing all Genesis allocation processes.

      ~ Accountable for money & invoice accuracy and generation including ancillary labels and legal disclosures.

      ~ Control the process of receiving vehicles into GMA inventory as it pertains to vehicle data is population.

      ~ Oversee data communication to production control entities and the monitoring of order status.

      ~ Communicate key issues with Genesis regional staff and gather field personnel input.

      ~ Provide executives with timely and actionable data to support agile decision making.

      Major Responsibilities (continued)

      ~ Strategic Planning - requirements, actions, initiatives and general business climate in the formation of internal and external planning. The start of plant production, new system requirements and staff workload needs to be planned and executed to provide necessary support.

      ~ Optimize all factors that impact both production volume and mix. Production volume constraints and requirements notwithstanding, the successful execution of this position results in a balanced vehicle pipeline from all perspectives. The balance criteria include both region and port share, as well as engine, trim, package, and color mix at the series level.

      ~ Provide a separate and distinct region / series algorithm-based sales forecast that optimizes regional share balance while minimizing HMA unallocated inventory. Forecasts should be tested annually for accuracy, and monitored monthly.

      ~ Manage Ad Hoc projects as necessary.

      ~ Create and present distribution material for all Governance and other presentations as needed.

      ~ Direct Supervision of assigned team members.

      ~ Provide management with accurate information and recommendations to facilitate decision making.

      ~ Mentor, coach, and develop team members; ensure department efficiency and effectiveness.

      ~ Backup and support Senior Group Manager, Genesis Carflow & Distribution, as required.

      Education

      ~ Must be a high school graduate
      ~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
      ~ Master’s degree a plus

      Related Experience

      ~ Eight plus years of relevant overall experience.

      ~ Five plus years of automotive experience with experience in distribution management required.

      ~ Five plus years of auto auction experience preferred.

      ~ Two plus years of sales experience including Customer and/or Dealer relations.

      ~ Regional operations background and assignments preferred.

      ~ Three plus years of supervisory experience desired.

      Skills/Knowledge

      ~ Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task.

      ~ Outstanding customer relations and interpersonal skills a must.

      ~ Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.

      ~ Strong analytical skills.

      ~ Excel, QMF proficiency and business applications development.
