      Job Description:

      Cox Enterprises is hiring a Senior Manager for the LEAD program. The LEAD program is a leadership development program that provides an opportunity for early career talent to obtain rapid career development and serve as a pipeline for future leadership needs at Cox. This role requires hiring, training, developing, managing, and mentoring a team of early career resources. These resources will be deployed to a variety of projects and roles. This role partners with stakeholders, internal customers, and cross-functional teams to develop and deliver successful resources, deliverables, and projects.

      Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

      People Leadership

      • Manage and mentor a team of early career resources.

      • Motivate and drive the team to reach for excellence.

      • Assist with project ramp up and preparation.

      • Collaborate on deliverables with resources, provide templates, review first drafts, and ensure work is of the highest quality.

      • Strategize with resources on approaches to problems, next steps, risks/issues with the approach, etc.

      • Sit in meetings with resources to observe and provide coaching.

      • Confer with and advise the team on administrative policies, procedures, priorities, and methods.

      • Ensure adherence to the defined methods and procedures.

      • Monitor performance on an ongoing basis and create development plans to ensure continual development.

      • Take a proactive approach to ensure team member/project success and resolve resource/project challenges.

      • Execute tasks required for people management: time tracking, time reporting, quarterly appraisals from project teams, and mid-year and year-end performance reviews.

      • Provide both positive and critical feedback professionally.

      • Build relationships with key stakeholders and resources to drive success.

      • Connect regularly with project teams and mentors to obtain feedback.

      • Continually develop teammates, catering to individual needs. This includes but is not limited to soft skills, hard skills, business acumen, facilitation, leadership, influence, and deliverables.

      LEAD Hiring

      • Serve as the main point of contact with CTA.

      • Work with CTA continuously to ensure alignment between recruiting plan and hiring needs.

      • Work with CTA on an ongoing basis to ensure recruiting calendar is aligned with the hiring calendar.

      • Own and manage the LEAD hiring calendar, from job posting through start dates.

      • Work with the program lead to determine hiring needs, including the number of resources and types of resources.

      • In coordination with partner organizations, create job descriptions tailored to specific resource needs.

      • In coordination with partner organizations, create tailored interview guides and processes.

      • Create content for info sessions.

      • Organize LEAD representation at recruiting events.

      • In coordination with the brand team, create LEAD brand and messaging at all candidate touchpoints.

      • Build and maintains relationships with campus career centers, faculty contacts, and student organizations in partnership with CTA.

      • In partnership with CTA, support scheduling and logistics of the end-to-end interview process

      • Manage feedback from interviewers and create a thorough readout.

      • Facilitate hiring decisions with the LEAD team.

      • Partner with CTA to determine the timing of background checks, communicate with candidates to ensure they are available, and track through completion.

      • Develop and manage a communication plan for all interactions with candidates after the initial screen

      • Manage the LEAD recruiting budget.

      LEAD Program Management

      • Anticipate future needs for the program to support business changes.

      • Identify necessary changes to the program, including ideal candidate makeup, recruitment, onboarding, training, and internal processes.

      • Overall support and continual improvement of LEAD modules: Hiring, onboarding, training, staffing, continuing education, performance management, and early career experience.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Minimum

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years of experience, a Ph.D. and 3 years of experience in a related field, or 12 years of experience in a related field.

      • 3+ years’ experience in management or leadership role

      • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.

      • Demonstrated strength in business analysis, process design, project management, and financial analysis.

      • Motivated, creative self-starter with strong interpersonal skills

      • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project

      • Excellent writing and presentation skills

      • Ability to drive and manage multiple projects/activities of varying sizes and duration.

      • Ability to adjust to changing duties and additional responsibilities per department and company needs.

      • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
