      Purpose

      • This role will support the Global COO, HMA CEO, Global VP of Governance/Strategy and the Director of Strategic Operations in achieving the short and long-term goals of the company. This individual will need to clearly understand the short/long term goals of HMA to identify opportunities that will support these objectives through strategic initiatives. The development and implementation of said strategic initiatives will have critical impact on the future of the organization.

      Major Responsibilities

      • In collaboration with the Director of Strategic Operations and our Corporate Planning team, develop innovative opportunities to compliment Hyundai’s strategy and technologies.
      • Ensure strategic initiatives deliver the desirable outcome for HMA; take on program management role including organizing and coordinating activities, develop and control deadlines, assume responsibility for the programs scope, assess program performance and prepare report outs to executive management.
      • Monitor and oversee projects’ progress; ensure proper management of schedules, budgets and overall implementation and execution-to-market.
      • Develop program management processes and trackers to aide progress of strategic partnerships
      • Collaborate closely with several departments across HMA, HMC, Affiliates and external partners to drive projects forward (i.e. Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Legal, Finance, PLM, CX, etc.)
      • Identify key consumer insights, products and services, determining their direct application and viability to Hyundai’s strategy.
      • Proactively seek out companies and/or institutions that hold products, services or capabilities that offer strategic partnership opportunities.
      • Engage key groups within Hyundai for identification of potential partners – HMC, CRADLE, HATCI, etc.
      • Assess and evaluate the viability of potential products/services that are passed down by executives
      • Present project proposals to Global and HMNA executives for review and approval.
      • Lead the creation of compelling, specific and actionable business plans for new business lines and revenue streams that are in alignment with overall Hyundai objectives.

      Major Responsibilities (continued)

      • Develop go-to-market strategies that take new businesses from minimum viable product launches to multi-year business model growth roadmaps.
      • Communicate and present progress updates to executive management.
      • Provide responsive and accurate ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested; create support information and deliver high quality presentation of data and material.

      Authority

      • Independently explore strategic opportunities to compliment Hyundai’s strategy and assist in decision making on what initiatives to move forward with.
      • Manage appropriate resources to leverage to deliver project outcomes.
      • Outreach to potential partners, dealers, key groups within Hyundai and external.
      • Development of proposals including timelines, budgets, KPIs, etc.
      • Management of multiple initiatives.

      Education

      ~ Must be a high school graduate
      ~ Bachelor’s degree required.
      ~ Master’s degree a plus

      Related Experience

      • Eight or more years of OEM experience of which at least five years in a strategic or project management role desired.
      • Three or more years of experience in planning and implementing strategic initiatives and projects with outside partners is a plus
      • Field experience is preferred.
      • Three or more years of supervisory experience is preferred.

      Skills/Knowledge

      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Strong understanding of the Automotive industry and its inner workings (dealer relations, field responsibilities, corporate objectives, etc.)
      • Excellent analytical skills - use both quantitative and qualitative data to create a broad, dynamic view of the market and synthesize the underlying insights of the data.
      • Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of management levels, both inside and outside of HMA.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple simultaneous projects.
