      Our Merchant Development teams focus on building relationships with existing Groupon merchants. We spend our days learning about what makes small-business tick and how to maximize relationships with merchants to ensure the continued growth of these accounts. You'll focus on full-cycle management of large-sized businesses and national/multinational businesses, merchant accounts. Whether you're optimizing a live deal for a business that we've worked with for years, or negotiating to bring a merchant back on our platform, you'll be the point of contact for our existing merchants at Groupon.

      You’ll spend time on the following:

      • You will be empowered to nurture and grow our existing large-sized/national merchant relationships. This includes re-engaging former merchants through cold calling to retain, consult, and close local deals
      • You will facilitate revenue growth by improving and optimizing deals
      • You will utilize knowledge of deal structure and strategy to reach Groupon’s and merchants’ desired outcomes and maximize satisfaction, engagement, retention, and profit
      • You will develop familiarity with each merchant’s business, including but not limited to: products and/or services, consumer demographics, consumer ratings, points of competitive differentiation, merchant economic model, and revenue/profit drivers
      • You will provide support to your merchant base by problem-solving questions or issues related to their deal campaigns
      • You will be expected to consistently achieve and/or exceed your sales targets and merchant satisfaction expectations

      We’re excited about you if you have:

      • 5+ years of success in a sales role, with sales experience selling into large, national, or multi-national accounts preferred
      • Extensive Inside and outside sales experience over the phone/email and social selling with a proven track record of building long term relationships with senior executives of a company
      • Proven depth of experience in Upselling, renewals, customer success and account life-cycle management
      • Bachelor’s degree preferred
      • Highly skilled in consultative selling, heavy relationship management with large sized/national accounts & strong sales orientation
      • Proven depth of knowledge and experience designing account retention and growth strategies, and sales campaigns
      • Experience in Developing familiarity with each account's business, including but not limited to: products and/or services, consumer demographics, consumer ratings, points of competitive differentiation, merchant economic model, and revenue and profit drivers
      • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in consistently exceeding sales quotas, big deal pricing, sales negotiation and problem solving.
      • Ability to understand and communicate complex business figures
      • High degrees of service diligence and accountability, y ou're resilient, and possess the innate ability to inspire passion in others
      • You are able to confidently demonstrate ownership of your performance, always looking for ways to be more coachable, improve and develop consultative sales skills
      • You’re comfortable in a competitive environment
      • Salesforce or other CRM experience a plus
