      Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Include the following. Other duties may be assigned
      • Provides supervision and support and expertise to OST Site Coordinators at selected
        sites.
      • Support the planning, supervise and implement a well-rounded, academically aligned
        curriculum (including objectives, lesson plans and evaluation) for the sites, i.e. project
        based learning, health and wellness activities, homework support
      • Develop, plan and supervise activities during school vacation weeks alongside other
      • Directors and Coordinators, and other days off from school.
      • Support planning and implementation of the Summer Learning Program and Camp
      • Provide short and long term planning in accordance with the policies and philosophies
        of PYS Out of School Time programming
      • Provide direction and guidance to staff, aid in staff training and conduct staff meetings.
        Supervise site staff and provide written evaluation of their work performance
      • Developing and overseeing an individualized training plan for each staff person in
        conjunction with PYS guidance

      • Responsible for supervising and demonstrating the ability to set and maintain limits for
        children using positive reinforcement
      • Create systems and processes when needed, particularly around staff coverage, data
        collection, recruitment and retention
      • Responsible for meeting monthly recruitment and budgetary goals for all assigned sites
      • Responsible for collection of data and inputting into central data base, uses data for
        decision making and program improvement
      • Supervise proper maintenance of equipment, clean-up of work and play areas and
        inventory and ordering of supplies and snacks
      • Plan and implement, with staff, monthly parent engagement activities
      • Create yearly goals and objectives to be maintained and discussed regularly with
        supervisor.
      • Maintain the necessary records involving attendance, proper release procedures,
        program registrations and documents required for state licensing; as well as collecting
        and maintaining records of all child care payments
      • Work in harmony and cooperation with all appropriate staff, volunteers and members
        of the YMCA
      • Ensure that the proper procedures regarding vehicle use are followed at all times
      • Responsible for attending staff meetings/events. Demonstrate and teach the character
        development values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
      • Continually enhance professional development through workshops, educational
        courses and/or appropriate reading material/ Licensing requires the completion of a
        minimum of 20 hours training per year relevant to the care of school age children
      • Ensures that all assigned sites are strictly following DCYF and YMCA policies, protocols
        and expectation.
      • Responsible for program observations in order to continually improve operations and
        quality.

      Supervisory Responsibilities


      Supervising OST Site Coordinators at assigned sites. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in
      accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

      Qualifications

      • Must be at least 21 years of age
      • Excellent organizational skills: attention to detail, ability of prioritize, and to meet
        deadlines in a fast-paced environment
      • At least two years’ experience managing Out of School time and Summer Learning
        programs with multiple staff
      • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and prepare analytical reports
      • Exemplary writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
      • Previous experience in the nonprofit or educational sector a plus
      • Ability to work as part of a team
      • Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
      • B.A. required
      • Senior OST Director Post Cont.
      • Expertise in data analysis and using data, broadly defined, to improve programs and
        instruction
      • Demonstrated leadership capacity; ability to inspire and manage others
      • USDA Licenses Food Programing experience
      • Budgeting experience
      • Minimum of 1 to 2 years in Child care Licensing experience

      Education and/or Experience

      Bachelor’s Degree with:

      • Minimum of 2 years staff and project management and supervision experience in an
        educational setting

      Reasoning Ability:


      Ability to anticipate, identify and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
      variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
      instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. To accurately complete all
      required paperwork. To professionally handle and/or get help to resolve conflict. Ability to
      follow instructions as given and/or directed by supervisor.

      Certifications / Training:

      • Prior to working with children
      • Child Abuse Prevention
      • Within first two months of employment:
      • CPR/ First Aid Certification
      • Listen First
      • Obtain a chauffeur’s license or MA 7D certificate
      • Meet RI DCYF requirements
      • Work to achieve within 12 months of hire:
      • YMCA trainings focused on academically focused OST
      • Senior OST Director Post Cont.
      • YMCA trainings focused on development of children
      • Other community/partner based trainings
      • Must complete a minimum of 20 hours of training per year relevant to the care of school age
        children.
      • Must be willing to attend meetings, supervision, training and certifications to improve
        knowledge and program quality.
      • As required of the program area in which the position serves. See appropriate Greater
        Providence program quality standards, hiring requirements or state licensing requirements as
        applicable. All certifications must be renewed in a timely manner in accordance with general
      • MCA policies. Must complete Association wide training requirements within the timeframe
        stated at time of hire. Training in Listen First, Support Change and Build Community Techniques
        to be completed within 90 days of hire date.
