What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate and assign tasks to paralegals and legal assistants within an assigned practice area
- Assist in the training and development of legal support staff through coaching and mentoring
- Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and appellate procedures
- Prepare pretrial documents and manage trial transcripts and exhibits for trials and hearings
- Conduct factual and legal research and cite-check legal documents for accuracy in accordance with Bluebook standards
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 10 years of Paralegal experience required
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Trial experience strongly preferred
- Experience mentoring and training junior-level legal support staff
- Familiarity with federal courts' CM/ECF system, PACER, Bluebook, and Westlaw
- Associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- An ABA-approved Paralegal certificate is preferred
