What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor and audit compliance with rules and regulations surrounding Patient Health Information
- Develop and implement policies related to privacy and information security
- Provide guidance and education to staff, researchers, and volunteers regarding patient privacy and HIPAA compliance
- Conduct technological reviews and implement safeguards for information security
- Analyze government regulations and develop plans for resolution and implementation recommendations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of five (5) years of HIPAA Privacy and Security healthcare experience
- Previous experience in an information technology, audit, policy, and/or business-related position
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Current certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or Healthcare Privacy & Security (CHPS), or obtain certification within one year of employment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Three (3) years of experience in a compliance-related environment or academic healthcare center
- Master's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
