      WHAT YOU'LL DO

      We are looking for a Senior Release Manager for one of our strategic customer accounts.

      The Role:

      As a Senior Release Manager, you are part of an SAP Technology expert team who are the primary SPOCs and E2E responsible for all customer SAP landscapes. You are supporting the Head of Technical Service Management and your colleagues in landscape management, focusing on the planning, coordination and execution of business go-lives and software releases.

      WHAT YOU BRING:

      • Fundamental knowledge about SAP NetWeaver and non-NetWeaver based systems.
      • High-level SAP Application know-how. This is needed to understand the criticality and business impact of the upcoming releases.
      • Solid experience in planning, coordination, and integration of SAP solutions in complex SAP landscape environments.
      • High-level knowledge of the SAP technology stack: NetWeaver, database, operating system (Linux, HANA, ASE) and how they work together.
      • Experience with hyperscalers (Azure / AWS) and their virtualization technologies.
      • Understanding of network concepts: DNS, Firewalls, network-based encryption, routers, subnets etc.
      • Experience with project planning, coordination, reporting and execution.
      • Lead planning discussions, drive activities as per schedule and act as the escalation point for critical issues.
      • Support the customer with their cloud transformation journey by taking ownership of the customer landscape during cutover / business go-live and hypercare phase.
      • You make sure the releases run smoothly by proactively identifying issues before they impact the timeline or scope. When issues do arise, you collaborate closely with the customer and all relevant teams to solve them as quickly as possible.
      • Work as trusted advisor representing SAP ECS in customer/partner/consulting discussions
      • Support the Cloud Advisory Architect (CAA) to identify customer future requirements
      • Work as feedback channel for customers in SAP ECS, providing improvement inputs to ECS cross delivery units (SE, Productization, Scalable Units)
      • Support Engagement Lead and Project Lead in delivering customer services.
      • Collaborate with different teams from within the ECS organization and outside to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
      • This is very much a customer-facing role. You will be working closely with customer technical experts on a daily basis.
      • New software releases are usually applied outside of standard business hours. You may be required to work on weekends/off hours during releases, critical customer escalations or go-lives. Flexibility is must.
      • Support delivery teams to perform and drive root cause analysis to completion
      • Mentor and guide junior members of the team

      EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

      • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Management, or related field.
      • Any Project management certifications (PMA, PMP, Prince2) are a big plus.
      • Familiarity with software planning tools (e.g., SAP Ruums, MS Project, Jira etc.) is important.
      • Familiarity with industry standards and methodologies for operations (ITIL v3, CCoE, ITSM, TCO and E2E Operations / Run SAP, ALM) – certifications in any of these topics are a big plus
      • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills in English: Ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audience with clarity and confidence
      • Customer centric mindset: Focus on highest service quality standards, customer success and achieving results.
      • Team player: Ability to work effectively in international and virtual teams. Your colleagues will be based around the world: Europe, South Africa, Brazil, and India.
      • Strong focus on quality, customer success and driven by results
      • Capacity to continuously acquire new knowledge in an independent, proactive way
      • Good analytical and solution-oriented thinking
      • Having project management experience is a plus.

      Work Experience

      Minimum of 5 years SAP experience, preferably in an SAP support / consulting environment.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS

      • English (advanced/fluent written & spoken). You will mostly communicate in English with other Teams and the customer.
      • Additional languages like German, Spanish, Portuguese or Hindi are a plus but not mandatory
