      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Develop and implement communication strategies and tools to advocate for AAMC priorities with policymakers
      - Engage with government relations representatives and communications professionals at AAMC member institutions to disseminate key messages
      - Monitor state and local government activities affecting AAMC member institutions to inform federal advocacy efforts
      - Draft and finalize public-facing statements, press releases, and other communication materials
      - Build relationships with communications offices on Capitol Hill to effectively share AAMC priorities and messages

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor's degree required
      - 5-7 years of experience in policy communications and advocacy
      - Experience as a communications director/deputy director or press secretary in a congressional office or similar role
      - Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, particularly in writing
      - Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience focusing on health care issues
      - Background in an association, academic medical center, or public affairs firm
