- As Senior Trading manager you will deliver the strategy for each destination in terms of share, volume and margin objectives. You will work with Purchasers to ensure we source the best possible rates in order to drive down costs. You will encourage a culture for continual process improvement within and across the Trading team. You will assist in the development of phased sales plans to maximise volume, utilisation and margin.
- Responsible for a set of destinations, you will work closely with the product team to deliver planned profit for each area. You will continually monitor route/property performance recommending changes where necessary to current and future programmes.
- The performance of our yield management system is vital in achieving optimal volume and margin and you will manage and monitor system output to ensure the system is making appropriate actions to deliver required results. You will encourage the use web and sales analytics to recommend changes to booking profile plans always looking for enhanced margin potential for your destinations. You will also work with our Commercial analytics team to look for systems improvements.
- Deputise for the General Manager and take an active role in helping to deliver the overall trading performance. You will be responsible for the development of Trading managers and Senior Trading analysts providing leadership and direction empowering them to take responsibility for their own destinations.
- Have a detailed understanding of competitor products and pricing strategies and work to market share objectives. You will work closely with the Third party flying team to ensure the TUI programmes you are responsible for can still deliver to agreed plans.
- Help deliver project work taking parts of the programme or processes and carrying out a full review to ensure it is delivering full profit potential – bringing in stakeholders from around the business where necessary and presenting findings back to Senior Management..
- Leadership responsibility for a team of Trading Managers and Senior Trading Analysts, providing guidance, coaching and feedback to ensure high performance and quality standards.
- In-depth analysis skills to interpret data reports and identify trends, opportunities and challenges in your destinations, using various tools and sources such as web analytics, market research and customer feedback.
- Yield management expertise to drive the pricing and inventory strategy for your destinations, using data-driven insights and best practices to optimise revenue and profitability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to chair and attend meetings with senior management and stakeholders, reporting on current sales performance, market conditions and future plans for your destinations.
- Research and innovation abilities to lead and conduct research work on other factors (non-pricing actions) that impact the sale trends, such as product development, marketing campaigns, customer service and loyalty programs.
- Project management skills to lead, plan, execute and monitor projects within the commercial division, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives and values, and delivering results within budget and timeline.
- Competitor awareness to review and benchmark competitor market trends and activities, and take appropriate action to maintain or improve our competitive edge.
- Flexibility and adaptability to deputise for the General Manager where necessary, and handle any other duties or tasks as assigned by the management.

Sitting in the commercial division, the Senior Trading manager will lead a highly performing, effective team delivering targeted results. Responsible for the delivery of profit targets for a large area or haul – you will also ensure that our Yield system is performing optimally working with the Analytics team to drive enhanced performance. You will take the lead in directing actions and deputise for the General Manager when necessary.
The role is based in Luton, but at TUI we believe work is something you do not somewhere you go. Therefore, we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements for this role and the successful candidate will work a blend of office and home working.
