- Design and lead all aspects of mixed-methods product research (including but not limited to usability studies, contextual inquires, large-scale surveys, etc.), analyze and transform raw data into actionable insights, and translate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders via reports, dashboards, and other deliverables.
- Collaborate with product and growth marketing teams to develop research questions and hypotheses that aid in product development and enhancements, while gaining insights on our evolving target customers and their preferences.
- Run statistical analyses on large user behavior datasets when needed to inform product and business strategy.
- Work closely with the Analytics + Research team to pair UX insights with other custom primary research studies conducted by fellow researchers and tie offline research data to our expansive and ever-growing audience database. This data will include consumer demographics, user behavior with our digital products, content analytics, as well as email and event marketing data.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2+ years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in mixed-methods UX Research (including usability testing, focus groups, large scale surveying, a/b testing, etc.)
- Experience programming surveys with tools like Qualtrics with user-friendly and accessible language aimed to avoid leading respondents.
- Experience managing and analyzing large data sets. (Knowledge of statistical modeling languages/tools such as Python, R, SPSS, or SAS a plus)
- Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with product, growth marketing, and other stakeholders under time-constraints and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to translate complex subject matter and analysis into understandable concepts.
- Ability to analyze and make inferences that remove bias and represent outcomes in the most accurate way possible.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is expanding its Analytics and Research department by growing their dedicated audience research team with the goal of leveraging advanced analytics and research to drive strategy across the company.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior UX Researcher who has aided product development at subscription or media companies with end-to-end custom primary research. This UX Researcher will liaison between the Analytics + Research team and the Product team to optimize product and content offers with data-driven insights and strategic recommendations, helping transform the AJC from a storied newspaper to a modern media company.
This is an excellent opportunity for a UX Researcher passionate about local journalism with a deep understanding of each stage of product development within the larger media ecosystem. The ideal person for this role comes from a background leading user-centered product research, is highly methodical and detail-oriented, and thrives working in a fast-paced environment.
