- Recruit and develop team of production supervisors, manufacturing engineers and technicians to support manufacturing across multiple shifts
- Collaborate with executive leadership and other functional group managers in setting long term goals for the team and site performance
- Provide leadership to engineering staff regarding project prioritization, process validations and continuous improvement activities
- Manage new product development and introduction from design phase to manufacturing, including initial product ramp up for commercial launch
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools to effectively resolve manufacturing issues as well as to improve process capabilities
- Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and procedures and allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity.
- Analyze production, maintenance, and malfunction records to identify problems and recommend solutions (for example changes to procedures, workflow, or equipment) that will improve performance.
- Liaise with functional or operational area managers (for example in supply and logistics, or sales) to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions for ablation catheter and diagnostic catheter manufacturing
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of supervisors who are responsible for various production activities such as assembly, machine operation, processing, treating, or packaging.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Minimum 10 years in Manufacturing/process development experience, with minimum 5 years of people management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, operations
- Experience with statistical techniques (i.e. DOE, SPC) as well as Lean manufacturing techniques, value stream mapping and continuous improvement methodologies. Solid knowledge of GMP and ISO regulations.
- Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing technology transfer project to global operations
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable
- Ability to travel approximately 20%, including internationally.
- Prior experience with high complexity manual assembly manufacturing preferred
- Prior experience in medical device manufacturing preferred
- MBA preferred
