What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and State Waste Discharge permits for industrial facilities
- Conduct facility inspections and provide technical assistance, including writing inspection reports
- Review and analyze water quality monitoring data to assess compliance with regulations
- Assist in the development of enforcement actions and communicate complex technical issues
- Collaborate with internal teams and respond to media inquiries related to environmental issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Nine (9) years of experience in environmental-based work or related activities
- Experience in writing and managing NPDES or State Wastewater discharge permits
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues and provide regulatory assistance
- Educational background in environmental, physical, or natural sciences or related fields
- Valid driver's license is required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in developing and implementing wastewater discharge permits
- Training in wastewater and stormwater treatment and technical document preparation
- Familiarity with laboratory data analysis, chemistry, and environmental fate and transport
- Previous experience in writing technical water quality reports
